Has lockdown brought you closer to friends and family?

One of the unusual side effects of Lockdown is we’re spending more time than ever with the people we live with.

Do you feel it’s brought you closer together to your partner, children or other family members?

Even those who live alone or live far away from family members have reported having more time to connect and have conversation with those they care about while life has slowed down under lockdown.

Others who don’t enjoy using technology or don’t have the benefit of doing their usual job or hobby might feel lockdown has eroded some of the closeness they’d usually feel with others.

What do you think? Has lockdown brought you closer to friends and family? Or has the distance caused you to drift from people you’d otherwise more regularly be in contact with?

Has lockdown brought you closer to friends and family?

No!...my kids live far away, but we do talk on the phone or Skype. I think my craving has morphed from eating chocolate into wanting a really lovely hug.

I've got no-one to play Scrabble with boo hoo!

The nearest of my step family are twenty odd miles away.

That's close enough for me.

Just look at the projected profit for the 2nd quarter from Zoom, that will answer many statistical questions.

I think lockdown gave my family and friends more time to fill so we have been more inclined to use apps like Zoom and WhatsApp to keep in touch and catch up.

Yes I think it has. Before I would always be shooting off to do other things, now I see my two sons who live with me, and lately my daughter, very often. And they of course have been more around during lockdown. It hasn't been all bad as long as you are not affected by this ghastly virus. I think some people would choose to continue with permanent lockdown (working from home and everything delivered) and forget the previous ways.

My closeness to family and friends is a constant and not influenced by the virus.
We support each other though good and bad times as best we can.

Yes as we have had more time to think about them and even though we are unable to visit we have used Zoom a lot.
