Have you been able to book your Covid Booster yet?

UK’s daily Covid cases breach 50,000 for the first time since July in 15% weekly jump with infections now rising in four-fifths of areas and hospitalisations are up by a third to the brink of 1,000.

There are growing fears the sluggish booster vaccine roll-out and impending fourth wave will force ministers to reimpose face masks and work from home guidance.

With fears the rising cases could lead to last-minute curbs ahead of Christmas once again, Boris Johnson has issued a desperate plea for more Britons to come forward for their boosters to ‘fortify’ people’s defences against the virus.

The rising statistics come as England’s Covid booster jab drive struggles to get off the mark, leaving millions of vulnerable people without a crucial third dose heading into what is expected to be one of the toughest winters ever for the NHS.

Only 4million out of the 8.7m patients in England who are eligible for a booster now have had one, including just a third of care home residents and half of over-80s. The Government and the NHS claim the slow start to the rollout is due to a dip in demand among the public.

But there have been growing reports of old and vulnerable people being turned away from clinics because they had not been sent an official invitation, despite having their second dose six months ago.

Have you been offered a third vaccine yet? If you haven’t is it more than 6 months since your 2nd vaccination? Are you aware of any large-scale vaccine hubs in your area?
