Should Theresa May Resign or Remain?

Theresa May is scrambling to rebuild her government as a survey revealed almost two thirds of the party faithful want her to resign over the election disaster.

It is said that when Theresa May realised the extent of the unfolding disaster in the early hours of Friday morning her first instinct was to resign.  Instead, as she seems to have done so often, she allowed those around her to talk her to stay.

Apparently, Boris Johnson has been pressed by five other members of the cabinet to oust Theresa May as prime minister as the Tory party descended into a new civil war.

Theresa May’s plan for a loose alliance with the Democratic Unionists to prop up her government was thrown into confusion last night after the Northern Ireland party contradicted a No 10 announcement that a deal had been reached.

The Northern Irish party’s positions on issues including abortion, gay rights and climate change have led many to condemn Mrs May for allying herself with it.

In the meantime the country is left in a state of turmoil. Before the election she had a 20 point lead and now, after what seems like a totally unnecessary and disastrous election, not only for her but for all of us, we are in a weakened position especially because the Brexit negotiations begin in 8 days.

What are your views? Should she stay or go? Who is best served to take her place if she goes? How do you feel about an alliance with the DUP?
