Do you think charities are too aggressive when it comes to raising money?

Four of Britain’s best-known charities are facing serious allegations of pursuing vulnerable people to raise funds, according to the BBC and Daily Mail.

The NSPCC, British Red Cross, Oxfam and Macmillan Cancer Support are accused of calling people registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), which bars unsolicited sales calls. All of these charities are taking the allegations seriously and are investigating them further.

Do you receive many letters from charities requesting donations from you?  Are you concerned about how much money charities spend trying to raise money using donated funds to do so?

What is your experience of charities phoning you to try and persuade you to donate money over the phone?  Do you feel pressured by these calls?  Do you dread answering the phone in your own home?
