How to print your photos online

Print Friendly

In this digital age, it’s easy to put off printing your favourite snaps. However, it’s also never been easier to find high-quality, creative and inexpensive ways to turn your digital photos into physical keepsakes.

There are a number of different ways you can ensure your photos don’t stay trapped in the digital realm forever. Whether you want simple prints or more unique photo items, here’s how to make it happen.

Order prints of all sizes

If you’re after standard prints of your photos, you have two options: 1) print them yourself using special photo paper and a modern home printer or 2) ordering prints online at a website like Snapfish or PhotoBox. If you go with option one, make sure that your printer is capable of printing photos, and choose the type of photo paper you prefer (matte or gloss). If you go with option two, consider enlarging one of your favourite shots. You’ll also have the option to get them framed, making your job that much easier.

If you have photos trapped on your smartphone, it’s just as easy to get them printed – Snapfish and PhotoBox both offer apps that make it easy to select photos to print straight from your phone and have them delivered to your door.

Design photo collages

Most photo-printing websites also offer the option to create a photo collage. This works especially well for event photos, giving you a patchwork of images to sum-up the occasion. From christenings to weddings to family reunions, simply pick the best photos from your set and see them artistically arranged together. Many printing sites will also arrange the photos for you, so all you have to do is upload them.

Blow up a photo on canvas

Even the most amateur photographer can snap a brilliant photo or two, so why not use your very best pic to create a canvas for your home? This works particularly well for travel photos of scenery or landscapes. There’s no need to pay hundreds for a canvas of the rolling hills of the Scottish highlands when your own photo will look just as good. Photo canvases also make great gifts.

Publish a photo book

Fair enough if you like to scrapbook as a hobby, but for those of you who don’t want to deal with photo glue, wrinkled corners or other hassles of paper scrapbooks, use your photos to create a photo book online. Write captions, design the page layouts, and choose whether you’d like a paper or hardback cover. You’ll be amazed at how professional it looks when it’s finished.

Create novelty photo items and gifts

Finally, there are all sorts of novelty items you can get made with your photos these days. From mugs to key rings to magnets and more, have some fun and create personalised gifts for your friends and family. Nothing says ‘I love you’ like a photo cushion with your partner’s face on it!

What do you plan to do with all your digital photos?
