Discover the gems of the Middle East
With its truly unique fusion of history and modern life, Abu Dhabi may be slightly less well-known than Dubai, but this wonderful city still has plenty to offer as a cruise holiday destination.
In recent years, Abu Dhabi, which is the largest of the seven emirates, has been transformed into a hive of culture and activity. Barrhead Travel is offering you the chance to experience Christmas with a difference this year, flying you to Abu Dhabi for 18 nights from the UK to discover the gems of the Middle East.
Your Arabian adventure will begin with four nights in a luxury five star hotel in Abu Dhabi, leaving you with plenty of time to explore. Why not start with a visit to Qasr al-Hosn, known as the “White Fort”, the oldest stone building in Abu Dhabi. For something a little more adrenaline-fuelled, you could swap powdery snow for miles of rolling sand dunes in the Liwa Oasis, where you can enjoy some of the best sand skiing in the world. Barrhead Travel have included a complimentary sightseeing bus tour, which takes in a number of the best sights including the Emirates Palace and Yas Island.
You will then embark on the stunning Celebrity Constellation for a two week cruise sailing to some of the most well-known destination in the Middle East. Your cruise itinerary travels from Abu Dhabi to Muscat in Oman before heading off to India’s coast. You’ll spend Christmas day in Cochin in India, witnessing the unlikely blend of European medieval architecture and Keralan arts. The ship then takes you to Indian hotspots such as Goa and Mumbai before travelling to Dubai, where you will bring in the New Year. With a free drinks package onboard, you will be celebrating the arrival of 2017 in real style.
Whether you’re looking for sun-soaked relaxation or a chance to learn more about Middle Eastern history, make sure Abu Dhabi’s at the top of your list this winter.
