Riviera Travel Reveals Over-55s Are Living Their Best Life & 2020’s Top Travel Destinations

In a recent generational study of 2,000 UK residents, Riviera Travel found that the over-55s demographic has the best well-being of any age group, with 70% describing themselves as having ‘very good’ mental health, compared to just 59% of those under 35.
Over-55s are not only feeling less stressed and less anxious than the younger generations but have incredibly engaging lifestyles and are living life to the full through travel. 19% of over-55s have spent more than 30 days on holiday in the last year – that’s double the number of under-35s, which falls at only 10%.
Is this linked? We think so. Regular travel is a great mood booster, so it’s really not a huge surprise that those who travel more are experiencing greater mental well-being.

Another question asked in the study was, ‘What advice would you give to younger generations looking to live their best life?’ Overwhelmingly, the results show over-55s are recommending that younger generations see more of the world and try new things.
