Great New Year’s Eve events around the UK
Bring in the New Year in style by heading along to one of the fantastic NYE events taking place all across the UK.
Fabulous Fireworks in London
You’ll never be short of a thrilling party to attend in London, but why not brave the chill this New Year to take in the fabulous fireworks display? Having grown year on year, this is likely to be the biggest show yet so head along to the South Bank and take part. This is the first year the event has been ticketed, so be sure to book before you go.
Hogmanay in Edinburgh
Celebrate the bells with old friends or make some new ones by taking a trip to Princes Street in Edinburgh for a Hogmanay celebration like no other. The Street Party is famous for its busy, bustling friendliness and you’ll find plenty of stalls with drinks and snacks lining the street, as well as live performances and a great atmosphere.
Fancy Dress in Newquay
If you’re a bit of a fan of dressing up, there’s no better place for you to be this New Year than in Newquay. Local tradition sees everyone donning fancy dress and taking to the streets for a fun night out – and all the pubs and restaurants are well prepared for the onslaught!
Secret Speakeasy in Manchester
For an unusual way to see in the New Year, head along to the Secret Speakeasy – a 1920s, prohibition themed party that will be taking place in a secret, special location. There will be live music, free retro dance lessons and lots more to enjoy – perfect for an unconventional spin around the dance floor in 2014/5.
Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth
For some New Year festivities with a fantastic view, check out the NYE party in Portsmouth’s famous Spinnaker Tower. Pop your party poppers and kiss your friends 500 feet above the scenic harbour by buying tickets to this fun celebration, which will also feature music, canapés and cocktails.
Winter Wonderland in Cardiff
With an enchanting ice rink and a whole host of great outdoor attractions, Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland is a treat on any evening – but it will be pulling out all of the stops for a big New Year’s bash. There will be live music from 9pm as well as a shuttle bus provided by Admiral to help ferry revellers home.
What’s your favourite NYE party or special event?
