Booking a holiday never felt so good!

How your cottage break can help support a local community…

At Original Cottages, we’re a family of more than 5,000 holiday homes stretching all across England and Wales. Looked after by locals who know these places like their own back gardens. Because often, that’s what they are.

From sun-dappled Cornish bays to wild Welsh mountains (and everything in between), our local knowledge means we know the best places to stay, see and relax – and we want to protect these places for generations to come.

That’s why we’re partnering with UK Community Foundations to give back to the beautiful places we call home. Plus, as a Silversurfers member you’ll receive £40 off your next break. And with our Book with Confidence promise, you can be assured that our team will be ready to move or cancel your booking if needed.

Now that really is a great feeling.

Giving back to look forward

With every booking until 31st March, Original Cottages will donate to UK Community Foundations – a national network of local charities. Each foundation supports local groups who are working hard to make their community a better place.

Whether it’s promoting health and wellbeing, tackling disadvantaged or vulnerable families, or distributing emergency funding in response to Covid-19, UK Community Foundations are there to support.

What will you discover?

1 The Boathouse, Llanbedrog, Snowdonia & The Lleyn Peninsula

When you book a break in Devon, you can look forward to pure relaxation by the sparkling seas. Perhaps you’ll even indulge in a famous cream tea, or two? But you can also look forward to helping local people through projects like Trevi, where women in recovery from addiction and domestic abuse can start to build a new life in Plymouth. Meanwhile, YMCA Exeter is another charity your booking could benefit. They help homeless people into independent living and support young people in the area, too.

1 Browcote Cottage Ravenscar, Yorkshire Coast

Or perhaps you’ll choose Yorkshire? God’s own country is crammed with things to do and see. Picture book villages and towns nestle in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the wild coastline is a feast for all the senses. Your booking could help provide community facilities, such as the renovation of a skate park to give young people a place to play. Other projects funded in Yorkshire include the relaunch of a community choir and music club, which is now welcoming vulnerable people through their doors so they can enjoy the benefits of music.

Thatch Barn, Hall Road, Clippesby, Norfolk

In Norfolk, meanwhile, the unspoilt Norfolk coast stretches for miles and miles, with sandy beaches to explore and charming historic towns. Your break will help support local projects like Nelson’s Journey, which provides bereavement support for children who’ve lost a loved one. Or Norwich Menshed, where vulnerable men can gain practical and social skills. In fact, the charities you help support will reach 1 in 4 people in the county.

No matter what you’re dreaming of Original Cottages have something for everyone. Discover more than handpicked 5,000 holiday destinations and book your feel-good holiday with confidence today!
