Discover Canada with Cox & Kings
Spanning six time zones, Canada is renowned for its spectacular mountain scenery, abundant wildlife, cosmopolitan cities and diverse cultures.
Cox & Kings has launched its first ever Canada brochure featuring escorted group tours, cruises, Rocky Mountaineer train journeys, self-drive itineraries and countless tailor-made travel ideas throughout the region.
From the icy wildernesses around Churchill and the scenery of the Rockies to maple forests and vineyards in the east and a beautiful coastline, Canada is certain to offer something to suit every traveller. We highlight some of the most spectacular travel experiences below.
Ideal for a first time visit, Classic Western Canada is an 11-day self-drive private tour priced from £995 per person. Beginning in Vancouver, the itinerary drives from the Pacific coastline along some of the world’s most scenic roads, through spectacular national parks and to the rugged mountains and glaciers of the Canadian Rockies. Between Jasper and Banff, a trip on the Ice Explorer to the Columbia Icefield is included as well as a ride on the Banff gondola.
Travelling though the changing landscapes of British Columbia and Alberta in the comfort of the Rocky Mountaineer train, Canada’s most famous train, is a highlight of visiting the region and is easy to incorporate into a longer itinerary. A 5-night trip from Vancouver to Banff is from £995 per person with cabin upgrades available.
Passage through the Rockies is a 12-day non-exclusive group tour priced from £1,895 per person. Discovering the best of western Canada by coach, the tour showcases the magnificent scenery of British Columbia and Alberta and is accompanied throughout. There is an option to upgrade to an overnight stay on the Rocky Mountaineer.
On the eastern coast, the sparsely populated provinces that make up Atlantic Canada are known for their high quality seafood and a mix of cultures. The region has French ancestry, evident in its language and heritage, and a holiday here will reward visitors with remote beaches, historic towns and unspoilt coastal scenery. Atlantic Canada Explorer is a 14- self-drive itinerary priced from £1,395 and includes the provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
500 miles north of the Arctic Circle on Somerset Island, the Arctic Watch Wilderness Lodge is the easiest way to experience being an explorer without any qualifications or training. With 24 hours of daylight during the summer, the remote waterside lodge provides a base to explore the wildlife rich surroundings, home to up to 2,000 beluga whales nursing their young in the inlet during the summer, as well as muskox, Arctic foxes, caribou and occasionally polar bears. A 10-day stay at the lodge, including the return 4 ½ hour flight from Yellowknife, is priced from £5,870 per person.
During the winter, the Northwest Territories offer some of the best Northern Lights sightings. At their best from December until March, Cox & Kings recommends a 3-night stay in Yellowknife, which is priced from £675 per person including two aurora-viewing excursions, a city tour and diner.
All prices include excursions and accommodation with meals as specified. Car hire is included in self-drive itineraries. International flights and transfers are excluded from the price but can be arranged.
