The Beauty of England and Wales

From the wild, rugged coastlines of the south to the ancient ruins and relics that scatter our historic isles, the UK is brimming with breathtaking places to explore, rich in heritage and full of hidden gems to uncover.

With over 4,300 properties, in some of the most desirable locations, our truly local knowledge will help start you on your journey – discovering the wonders a holiday right here at home has to offer.

Mouthwatering, local cuisine

From finding the best tastes in town, tucked away in cobbled lanes, to knowing the perfect spot to watch the sunset as you enjoy an evening meal, our family of truly local agencies have the regional know-how to make your stay as authentic as possible. Whether you’re seeking out the finest fresh seafood restaurant, or a boutique tearoom with a view, our local knowledge can point you in the perfect direction.

Why not head to the Starr Inn, a Michelin Star gastropub in Harome, Yorkshire. Wonky walls and crooked, low-hanging, weathered beams give it a Tolkienesque feel. While tasty, traditional treats – made from regional and seasonal ingredients – give this restaurant its recognised edge.

North Yorkshire Moors

Live like a local

Tenby Harbour

Bustling local market towns, secret golden beaches and inspiring heritage sites can be found right across these age-old lands. Hike across rolling hills, cruise coastal paths, or ramble along the river’s edge, there’s no shortage of active days. From coasteering the cliff tops of Pembrokeshire to hiking and biking some of the country’s most scenic routes, uncover the beauty of the British isles on a more active break. Discover locations, admired and loved by the locals but often not mentioned on holiday sites. Enjoy long days exploring the local landmarks, villages and new terrain, letting our truly local knowledge unlock the region’s secrets for you. Here are just a few ideas.

Time-locked landmarks

Powis Castle

Powis Castle rises dramatically above its surrounding, vibrant gardens in Wales. Comprising of the castle, its gardens and a fascinating museum, there’s plenty to explore – with events running throughout the year and a restaurant and cafe on site to fuel your adventures.

Sutton Hoo

History in a hill – discover one of the most internationally important archaeological sites ever found, Sutton Hoo. An ancient Anglo-Saxon burial site in Suffolk, there’s also an exhibition which holds everything from a 1400-year-old ship to a glistening display of replica treasures to help you better understand the mysteries that lay faceless beneath the earth for centuries.

The Camel Trail

Known for being a welcome pit-stop on the Camel Trail, an 18-mile footpath through some of the South West’s most dramatic landscapes, Wadebridge is the place to be if you’re ready for an adventure. Following an old, disused railway track through North Cornwall, the trail takes you past everything from impressive clifftop peaks to impossibly blue lagoons.

Staithes

Nestled cosily between surrounding clifftops, Staithes is a charming coastal hamlet and the perfect base to discover some of Yorkshire’s lesser-known countryside. Explore tiny, winding lanes, or make your way over to the harbour and relax by the water’s edge of the river that runs through the centre of town.

Spend less, explore more

If you’re searching for a week of peace, relaxation and carefree living, why not join us during off-peak season? Less crowds and lower prices make term time holidays a stress-free stay. And then, when the day’s finally done, you can head back, enjoy home comforts and truly relax at your cottage escape.
