Do you have access to an NHS Dentist? The only access I have is to the surgery door, only to be told they don't take NHS patients any more. 3 dentists in my town and all private. Such greed! There's one in my nearest big town but the waiting time is about 8/9 months for a first appointment. My solution is to visit a dentist when I visit my daughter who lives in Bulgaria, it's 75% cheaper than UK.ViewDate:

Are touchscreens in cars too distracting for drivers?Invaluable for setting routes before I start driving, I know where my favourite radio stations are without looking although it did take a few times to get used to them. I don't answer the phone, that would definitely be distracting. On the whole a very useful addition but could do with a few less 'gadgets'.ViewDate:

Are you particular about loading your dishwasher?I was when I had family at home, used to take things out if someone else did it and do it my way. Now on my own I wash up by hand and believe it or not I quite enjoy it.ViewDate:

Do you believe in Blue Monday?Never heard of it until this year and I certainly don't let Mondays get me down. I'm retired so I can lie in bed and listen to birdsong before I get up - what a wonderful way to start any day.ViewDate:

Would you be happy to be weighed before boarding a flight?By all means weigh me and everyone else before boarding a plane. If overweight people have to pay more it might encourage them to lose some of their personal excess 'baggage', which would only be a good thing for their health - and their travelling companions!ViewDate:

Win ONE of THREE £50 Vouchers to spend with Ivel Valley Bird Food!Having just lost my lovely little cat, the last in a line of eight over the past 40+ years, I can't go through the heartache any more. I've decided to start feeding birds which I couldn't do when he was alive. This prize would be a wonderful start for me and the birds, it would help perfectly with my new project of feeding station and bird bath. Good luck everyone,ViewDate:

Have you adopted a ‘life is too short’ attitude?16 years ago I was diagnosed with COPD then 12 years ago with heart disease. Since then I've travelled both in UK and abroad, taking in 4 continents, plus 3 cruises. My travelling days are far from over, I've got 2 booked for '24 and am planning more. I run a telephone help line for a charity and love pottering in my garden. When asked how I do these things I just say 'I didn't invite these nuisances into my life so they have to live with me, not the other way round'. I'm only 76, my Mum passed when she was 94, and her dad, my Grandad when he was 93. I plan to beat the pair of them!ViewDate:

Would you consider eating insects as an alternative source of protein?Haven't we destroyed enough yet? When will the 'woke' brigade wake up? This world will end when we've killed everything that assists ecology, then we will have nothing and we will die. I just hope the next cycle of this planet doesn't include humans so every other living thing will have a chance to thrive.ViewDate:

Will you be sending Christmas cards this year?Only sending to the 9 grandchildren and g/grandchildren, that's more than enough. Bought 16 stamps yesterday which cost £16, twice as much as I spent on the cards.ViewDate:

Do you make your bed as soon as you get out of it?No, I turn back the duvet, straighten the bottom sheet and puff up the pillows, then leave it to air while I feed the boss (cat) and have my shower, then I make it. Could never get into a bed that hasn't been aired for at least half an hour.ViewDate:

Have you switched supermarkets for your main weekly shop?I was using Morrison's as it's the only shop in my small town but thought I'd try Aldi in the next town and couldn't believe the prices there. I experimented by swapping some of my favourite brands and can't find anything that isn't the same, or in some cases even better quality than Morrison's. The main difference is I now get 4 bagsful in Aldi for the price of 2 in my previous s/market, and taking into account the cost of petrol I'm still £'s better off. So yes I've swapped, but still willing to try others if they're within a reasonable driving distance.ViewDate:

Do you have a cherished family recipe that's been passed down the generations?A Christmas cake recipe from an 1800's kitchen. I'd post it but it has a 'secret ingredient' which, according to the recipe, must never be disclosed. It really does make a superb cake though!ViewDate:

Should we encourage children to identify as cats and other animals? If this is allowed to continue there will be no beds left in psychiatric wards, as if they aren't full enough already. Parents and schools are to blame for allowing it, and the government has to step in and make it illegal to encourage such nonsense before it gets out of hand.ViewDate:

Does being referred to as middle-aged stop at 60?Good grief I'm only just in the middle of middle-age at 75! I refuse to dress like a granny, or great grandma in my case, act like one or be treated like one. Many of my friends think I'm in my later 50's which suits me very well! Very little make-up if any, a neat modern hairstyle and some classic clothes jazzed up with chunky jewellery and/or scarves and I'm ready to go :-)ViewDate:

Are you relied on to look after your grandchildren regularly while their parents are at work?I put 'Yes' although my grandchildren are all grown now, but I did when they were young as their parents had to work and I hated the thought of them having to pay a large chunk of their income for outside child care. I had them after school and through the holidays, it was a real pleasure for me to do so. They seemed to enjoy it too as although they're all grown they never leave me out of birthdays, parties etc, and my 26 y/o granddaughter and I will shortly go on our annual holiday together. I consider myself very lucky that my daughter allowed me the privilege of caring for them and the relationship we have.ViewDate:

Do you buy supermarket own-label brand or Heinz baked beans?I said supermarket own brand but truth is I can't stand baked beans, I opened a can once when I was expecting my son and all I saw was a can of lumps in an orange slime - I immediately threw up and haven't touched them since, 40 years later!ViewDate:

Win a £50 National Garden Gift VoucherIf my family asks what I would like for birthdays/Christmas I always reply that a garden voucher would be lovely. I think I've only been given 2 in the past 10 years or so, so this would be a wonderful surprise, even though it's not my birthday any time soon!ViewDate:

Are you a fan of Warburtons' bakery goods?I've bought a Warburtons loaf on two occasions, the first one went mouldy after a couple of days but to give it the benefit of the doubt I bought another one some time later. That too had a musty smell and green mould after three days so no, I'm not a fan of Warburton's. Never had any issues with Hovis so I'll stick with that.ViewDate:

Should masks be reintroduced to stop the spread of winter illnesses? For me, and many others, wearing a mask has an extra bonus. Those of us with lung disease dread breathing in cold air as it contracts what little lung capacity we have, wearing a mask has the effect of warming the air slightly so our lungs don't suffer so much. I'm quite happy to wear one for the extra benefit it provides.ViewDate:

Will you send Christmas cards this year in view of postal strikes and increased postage costs?I have no choice as I have a large part of my family living far away, but I won't be sending individually, I'll be putting them all into one envelope for distribution the other end. This advice came from my local post office lady, it will save quite a bit of money.ViewDate:

Would you support a pay-as-you-drive scheme on UK roads? It makes sense for drivers like me who do approx 2,500 miles a year, mostly local plus 3 or4 300-mile drives to visit relatives. I don't appreciate subsidising company car drivers and those who are out and about just for 'fun'.ViewDate:

Would you welcome the 80's mullet hairstyle back with open arms?Personally it's not for me but we can't all like the same things and if that's what people want to do with their hair who are others to say they should or shouldn't? I wonder if people would be so vociferous if it were called something else, after all 'mullet' isn't the most attractive name, is it? The Bowie cut, perhaps...ViewDate:

Have you been able to book a check-up with an NHS dentist recently?Next available NHS appointment at the village dentist is July and they're asking for a £50 deposit. I don't know if this is usual practice. I asked if it was refundable should I need to cancel before then and was told only in cases of critical illness or death!ViewDate:

Do you ever take an afternoon nap?Yes often as I'm a night owl so my sleep pattern isn't the same as many others. An afternoon nap refreshes me and gives me the energy to do the things I need to throughout the evening. -
