Older grandchildren who never say Thank Your for Christmas or Birthday chequesI am fortunate that my granchildren thank me, either by text or a letter. Perhaps a reminder from you on your card, such as let me know when you get this. This works for me for my grandson who is in the RAF, because his post goes to a central point and takes several days to reach him. I find that some friends are guilty of this too, not thanking one for a present. As my family is getting larger I have stopped buying Christmas presents for all except my great grandchildren. I felt mean at first, but the family were fine about it. It was becoming too expensive, which I could not afford. I always buy them a good Birthday present.ViewDate:

Anyone got any good tips to stop cats fouling garden?Try used teabags soaked in Jeyes fluid. I find that works for my garden. Bury them with a thin smattering of soil over them do not bury the too deeply.ViewDate:

Will you be stocking up on provisions for post-Brexit?I think the idea of stocking up is scaremongering and another way for food manufacturers to mak moneyViewDate:

Speakers Corner CommentsWe have free speech, which many countries do not have. One can criticise the government, whereas if one lived in Saudi Arabia one would be imprisoned for criticising their government. The same goes for Russia. We have a wonderful Health Service, which is the envy of the world. I agree that we need to get back to producing more goods in this country, which would probably cost more. Our society has got used to cheap products manufactured in countries where labour is very cheap. I never buy goods from a famous store, who can sell a man's shirt for 2.00. I used to work in the textile trade and the companies that we bought for were always wanting cheaper and cheaper goods produced.ViewDate:

Speakers Corner CommentsI agree that M&S fashions have deteriorated. I recently tried a straight skirt on and the sides stuck out like jodphurs. My next goal is to find a dressmaker to make me a skirt and some trousers, but they are like hens teeth scarce. I used to make my own skirts and trousers, but, as I do not have table to cut out on and find cutting out on the floor difficult. I can get down but find it difficult getting up .ViewDate:

Speakers Corner CommentsNo. I find metric much easier. Imagine what chaos it would create with children who are all taught decimal.ViewDate:

Speakers Corner CommentsI felt sad for you when I read your comment. Have you though of writing a letter to your children telling them how you feel. Make it friendly with out any recriminations of them or their father. They might think you are coping if you put on a brave face. Perhaps you could suggest taking your grandchildren to a show or visit something that they are interested in. Explain to them that you would like to enjoy their company. I usually try and book a show for a birthday present for my granddaughters and myself. I am fortunate that I have a supportive family, but I try not to encroach on their time, as I know when one works time is precious. Do you have any hobbies? I realise because of your age you might have difficulty getting about. I am 83 and try to keep busy. I am fortunate that I can still drive. Perhaps you could join a local friendship group. I do hope things get better for you. -
