Hello - looking for like minded friends to chat withHi WIlhelm, I’m In S Yorks, I used to work for BR and travelled between Scotland and London as I worked as an auditor and was based in York/London mostly, although prefer the north. I get free rail travel, but haven’t been anywhere by train, due to covid in over two years. My single daughter and I tend to drive to holiday parks or camp sites, as we have a chi and a chorkie, our last hol was to Morecambe, wasn't’ very Impressed. SandraViewDate:

Hello - looking for like minded friends to chat withHi Terry, just seen your comments, my dad served in the airforce in Rhodesia, Africa in 1939 and they used to go swimming near the Victoria Falls. He took loads of pics, I loved looking at them, he was offered a job as engineer in a gold mine, but my mum wouldn’t go, she was expecting my elder sister, maybe I would have been born there.ViewDate:

Money saving baked hamMy daughter bought one similar from Tesco for £50, cooks a chicken in under an hour with roast potatoes. we also bought an air fryer that is like a mini oven, does chips and ham/pork slices in ten mins.ViewDate:

Money saving baked ham£7.20 for gammon joint, you can buy gammon slices in £shops and Lidl/Aldi with no waste, also big packs of cooking bacon.. You can get pork joints for £3.99 kg at most supermarkets. which is more healthy, I bought a ;large hock; for £2 from my butcher, made meals for two for 3/4 days and gave bone to dogs.ViewDate:

Should dog training be compulsory? We took our chi x to trainer, what a waste of money, first session was on picking up dog poo, you are better off getting a book or dvd from library. Our latest chi didn't have any training and he comes home on his own, he was getting under fence gap, so put concrete panels down nowViewDate:

How to give yourself a massage at home to aid muscle recoveryGinger and Turmeric are good for repairing a 'fatty liver' - I add them with carrots and onions or squash and pumpkin to make healthy soups.ViewDate:

New to thisAs most ladies practice safe internet postings, they are hardly likely to put their location on a post, It's not hard to work out where someone lives, by posting 'yes I live near there', then they reply 'oh I lived on xxxxx St'! I have been 'located' on certain sites, long ago, due to 'so called friends' posting my personal information, so I am very careful now, I don't even tell people I have met socially where I live! Would you consider NOT replacing your pet to save the planet?I agree, the women having over 20 children should be targeted, instead of blaming dog owners, who choose not to have children/grandchildren. I rescued both my small chihuahuas. I think I am helping the planet, as I buy fresh butchers' meat and whole chicken - no left overs and big bags dry/moist dog food. As for plastic dog bags, I recycle paper bags or newspaper, so please tell me how my fur grand babies are harming the planet?ViewDate:

Lonely and vulnerable and looking to chatHi Mick, I've been to Plymouth many times over the years, by train, but it must be scary with today's news, I prefer Torquay and quieter surroundings.ViewDate:

Lonely and vulnerable and looking to chatHi Joy, I have been single since 1983, I brought up boy/girl twins whilst holding down a job 15 miles away, my dad died of cancer and there was just me and mum, we went on holidays, day trips, cinema, church, she first got cancer in 1986 and then it came back 8 years later and she died in 1997. I had taken voluntary redundancy in 1995 and so looked after her full time for nearly 2 years. I had an elder brother and sister who didn't visit and finally my brother and his wife died 10/11 years ago and I wasn't even told. My sister went to the funeral and my nephew's wedding, I was told later, I can't express how hurt I've felt all these years. I became disabled with osteo/rheumo arthritis in 1997 after a back injury and although my daughter takes me to the coast and on holidays, we always end up falling out. I have had no friends or social life since 1995. I enjoy the tv/internet and reading and taking out my male chihuahua Peanut, who sits in my scooter basket to the lake, he loves to chase the ducks.ViewDate:

Moving home aloneHi I live in the Dearne Valley, it is lovely here, we have a large lake and a Wetlands bird sanctuary there is a canal running from Sheffield, through to Doncaster and Goole, Last year I went on a canal cruise from Conisbrough, the castle has been rebuilt, There are some lovely canal trips from York and Skipton as well. Like you I love the beaches in summer, my sister lives on the Lincs coast, I used to have a caravan nearby, but my kids got fed up and so we went camping further south and had holidays abroad and we did the 'Sun' holidays and have travelled to Scotland and down to Kent and Cornwall we have stayed at most of the Haven and Park Dean sites. I have lived here all my life and been single 37 years since my divorce but . My advice would be to stay put, we are not through the pandemic and when it is eventually all over, you can visit your children and have some nice holidays, the Yorkshire Dales are lovely and you could join some walking groups. Look for singles groups on facebook the over 50's and 60's and there is a camping group for 'singles'. You will soon make friends and possibly stay with them, but there are some great hostels for singles, I stayed in a lovely one in Inverness and you can take your dog. I have two 5 year old chihuahuas.ViewDate:

Retired in IrelandHi what part of Ireland are you from? My gran came from south west Ireland I've never been, so would love to visit. I have researched my family tree on my granddad's side to the 18th century, but got stuck with gran's as the Irish records got burned.ViewDate:
