Would you be happy with a driving curfew over the age of 70?Agreed but I think the assessment could be done every 3 years as this is how often you have to renew your licence when you are over 70. This way, everyone will know that those over 70 who are driving have been deemed fit to do so. Also, as I have mentioned before, eye tests should done every 2 years anyway so this would also be covered.ViewDate:

Would you be happy with a driving curfew over the age of 70?I have had an eye test every 2 years for many years and I always make sure I attend. Everyone is supposed to have a 2 yearly test, no just the over 70's.ViewDate:

Which goes on first - the salt or the vinegar?I put salt first then vinegar to help the salt 'sink' into the batter. The opposite is what my partner does as he says the vinegar helps the salt 'stick' on the fish & chips.. Either way, they don't last long enough for either of us to prove the other one wrong!ViewDate:

Is it still ok to share Irish jokes on St Patrick's Day?My other half is of Irish decent (come to think of it, so am I - way back!). He is always joking about something and would be the last to condemn anyone telling a joke. I can remember listening to Mike Harding who used to tell jokes about the funny side of everyday situations and I thought he was very funny. Jokes can help you cope with life and ease tricky situations. It seems to me that the younger generations can't see the funny side of anything. (and no doubt someone will complain that that remark is ageist!!) Who cares, I'm old enough to remember when the world laughed.ViewDate:

Memorable TV Adverts – which is your favourite?I thought my favourite was the Smash advert but having watched them all and others that appeared, I just love them all. Not too keen on the Shake & Vac one but I think that was because it was on so many times you got sick of hearing it. Haven't watched it today but I can hear it in my head!! Certainly better than a lot of today's adverts!ViewDate:

Should controversial statues around the country be removed? This is a comment (modified) that I made to an article in the news:- Why should statues be demolished or moved to satisfy people who are only focusing on one aspect of that person’s life and they cannot see that if it wasn’t for these people our country would not be in the position it is today. They also remind us of how far we have come in changing attitudes. Yes, they were despicable times which, in hindsight, it is easy to say they should not have happened. But if we could go back 300 or so years, would we have the same attitude as that of today? I doubt it as it was acceptable at the time – we didn’t know any better. Huge changes in attitudes take a long time to happen and while I don’t condone the slave trade, I do accept that it is part of our history and without it we would not have some of the standards we live by today – or the freedom of speech to say so. As long as we learn from history and not repeat the same shameful acts then I think the statues should be there to remind us of our progress – and not only those of slave traders but anyone who has had an impact on our county’s history. ---------------------------------------------------- Slavery is not unique to black - white people were slaves too. Slavery does back many more years than those covered by the people in these statues and it wasn't instigated by them. We may not like certain aspects of our history but we cannot ignore them - but it is OUR history and we are proud of it - warts and all!ViewDate:

Should Dominic Cummings resign?Absolutely agree Llin - and don't observe social distancing rules! You only have to watch the news reports to see them crowding together. Who are they to talk about double standards - and let's face it, is it really necessary for them to travel about to report on these stories?ViewDate:

Are you happy to remain opted-in for organ donation?Like Happy Hippie, I have carried a donor card since the 70's and they can use whatever is still useable when I go. My partner is the same and we think this scheme should have been adopted years ago. As they have been saying on the TV, talk it over with your family so everyone knows your wishes.ViewDate:

Will you be voting in the European Elections this month?I voted for Brexit before and I will vote the same again. This Government is the worst we have ever had, although I do think Theresa May has tried to please everyone and been stabbed in the back for it. They want her out but who would replace her? No deal should never have been taken off the table and Nigel Farage says it will be brought back if the Brexit Party win! I certainly hope they do.ViewDate:

Are shirtless pictures of Poldark sexist double-standards?Yes Jorid, his face is rather fine. The thing about him, for me, is the expressions in those dark, brooding, expressive eyes! Now that is something to swoon over, especially when you daydream they are looking at you. Chest isn't bad either.ViewDate:

As GPs prescribe canal walking for tackling depression, here are some of the UK’s finest waterwaysWe have walked along canal sides for years. They are easy walking as they are flat, apart from where the locks are but if there is only 1 the rise is easily negotiated. We also walk round reservoirs, which are also flattish and easy walking. Both are peaceful and relaxing and you can hear the birds singing, water lapping and, unless the canal runs by a road, there is no traffic noise, but both can be muddy so be careful. Try a leisurely walk on a sunny day and take a picnic with you, there is always somewhere to sit and enjoy the view while you eat. If you log into your water providers website there is usually an area that specifies which reservoirs can be walked round and how to get to them and where to park. Enjoy.ViewDate:
