What’s the best way to stay fit and active as you age?

From swimming to weight lifting, there are plenty of ways to stay fit as you age, and each has its own unique benefits.

Yoga can improve strength and flexibility, while walking offers a chance to keep your heart strong through cardio exercise. Others prefer low-impact activities like swimming and aqua fitness classes.

In the UK, I go to the gym where I do gentle weight lifting exercises, treadmill, crosstrainer and bike, followed by the sauna as a reward. Abroad, I go for long walks on the beach, etc. The main priority being to know where all the loos are :-).

I think walking is one of the best as it can be gentle or you can pound your way along - it can be adjusted to your own pace and you can also view the scenery as you mooch along!
