A Jungle Journey – Tigers & The Taj Mahal

Wild at heart, this journey takes you into the central parks of Madhya Pradesh.  This diverse terrain offers a hugely varied selection of Indian wildlife and bird life set against the dramatic settings of the India Jungle.  This itinerary also includes the pretty park of Ranthambore one of the most scenic parks of India and not to mention the city of Agra and the world’s greatest monument to love The Taj Mahal. 

DAY 1: DELHI – SAWAI MADHOPUR – RANTHAMBORE

Arrive Delhi and stay the morning at The Oberoi Hotel. This afternoon travel by train to Sawai Madhopur and transfer to Ranthambore National Park to stay 2 nights at Taj Sawai Madhopur Lodge.

DAY 2: RANTHAMBORE

Early morning and afternoon game drives by canters in the game park, hoping to catch sight of the various elusive and rare species.

DAY 3: RANTHAMBORE – SAWAIMADHOPUR – BHARATPUR – FATEHPURSIKRI – AGRA

Morning drive and train brings you to Bharatpur. Travel by road to Fatehpur Sikri. Explore this fortified ghost city before continuing on to Agra for 2 night stay at ITC Mughal Hotel.

DAY 4: AGRA

Dawn visit to the Taj Mahal which is strikingly beautiful in the early morning. Continue with a full day exploring Agra, seeing Agra Fort and Itmad-ud-daulah.

DAY 5: AGRA – JHANSI – KHAJURAHO

Morning train to Jhansi, and then travel by road to Khajuraho. Stay 1 night at Lalit Temple View Hotel. This afternoon explore the magnificent temples.

DAY 6: KHAJURAHO – BANDHAVGARH

Transfer by road to Bandhavgarh, arriving Kings Lodge for a 3 night stay.

DAY 7: BANDHAVGARH

Morning and afternoon game drives in the park. Its steep cliffs, rocky hills covered with dense sal and bamboo forests make it an ideal terrain for tigers.

DAY 8: BANDHAVGARH

Early morning and afternoon game drives, or spend the day exploring Bandhavgarh Fort and surrounding monuments and local villages.

DAY 9: BANDHAVGARH – KANHA

There is time for a morning game drive before transferring by road to Kanha National Park. Arrive Singinawa Jungle Lodge to stay 2 nights.

DAY 10: KANHA

Early morning and afternoon game drives in the hugely varied terrain, which is home to many different animal species and superb flora and fauna.

DAY 11: KANHA – PENCH

Morning game viewing at Kanha National Park. Later transfer by road to Pench, for a 2 night stay at Baghvan luxury lodge by Taj Safaris and & Beyond.

DAY 12: PENCH

Early morning and afternoon game drives in this scenic reserve covered in prime teak forest and grasslands of the Satpura Range.

DAY 13: PENCH – NAGPUR – MUMBAI

Transfer to Nagpur airport and fly to Mumbai. On arrival, stay at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure.

DAY 14: MUMBAI

Explore India’s commercial and business capital city which is hugely spread out and replete with Victorian architecture. Evening at leisure until in-time transfer to the airport.

DAY 15: DEPART MUMBAI

Early morning departure for onward destination.

 

Costs from – £3585 per person.  The price is based on double occupancy, and is subject to change based on hotels and dates of travel.
