Cocktail recipes: where to find them online

Print Friendly

Whether you’re planning a party or just fancy yourself a bit of a bartender, making cocktails at home is a great way to unwind and enjoy a drink – without the eye-watering prices that come along with the trendy cocktails being served up at our nation’s best bars.

If you’re looking for the perfect flavour combination then look no further: we’ve put together a list of some of the best cocktail sites on the web, to help you find something delicious and refreshing.

Where to find the best recipes

BBC Food – The BBC’s food section has more than 200 classic cocktail recipes you can browse through. Ingredients for each cocktail are laid out and each recipe gives information about service size and prep time – along with straightforward instructions to help you make each cocktail at home.

House and Garden – House and Garden magazine is a popular resource for recipes, and has a collection of exciting cocktails to inspire you. Each recipe comes with an image offering ideas about how to serve your cocktails, along with helpful tips to help you put your own spin on each.

Cocktail UK – Cocktail UK is one of the largest online resources for cocktail recipes, boasting more than 1000 unique recipes to discover. You can browse by ingredients, check out their top ten cocktails, and even find great non-alcoholic cocktail recipes – perfect if you are serving guests who need to drive.

GoodFood – BBC’s popular culinary magazine, GoodFood, has a number of cocktail recipes on its website, each one offering up helpful facts like nutritional information and serving sizes. If you’re already a member of GoodFood you can also save the recipes to come back to later, and easy sharing buttons make it easy to post a cocktail recipe you like to your Facebook profile or to email to a friend.

Waitrose – Though it might not be the first place you think to check, the Waitrose website is actually a good source of inspiration for cocktail recipes. Helpfully divided by base ingredient, this is a great place to look if you need a quick and easy classic recipe to impress your guests.

In the Spirit – In the Spirit is a cocktail recipe index with hundreds of cocktails from the straightforward to adventurous. You can browse the latest cocktails, check out the most popular or use the random cocktail generator if you just want to try something new. There’s also a helpful section of video recipes that can give you a visual guide for preparing and serving each cocktail.
