If you like radio – you’ll love our money guide podcast series

What is a podcast?

A podcast is an online show, similar to a radio show, that’s available at all times. A podcast is audio-only – no video. You can listen to a podcast as soon as it’s available, or you can listen to it days, weeks or even months later. There are podcasts in all genres, from politics to sports to culture to comedy, to everything in between. At free2, we’ve commissioned a podcast series covering the six key chapters of the popular Guide to managing money for the over 55s.

Why listen?

If you’re interested in making your finances work hard for you then the podcasts will certainly help. Each podcast is easy to listen to, informative and entertaining, with illuminating anecdotes. Presented by Chartered Financial Planners Nick Bamford and Shelly McCarthy, of Informed Choice Ltd, the podcasts cover essential issues in financial thinking for the over 55s. These include key questions around;

  • What does life over 55 look like for me?
  • How is my Pension organised and how can I use the benefits to support my retirement plans?
  • How do I clear my mortgage as I transition into retirement?
  • What are the costs and practicalities of downsizing?
  • How can I raise more capital once I get used to life on a well-defined income?
  • What options do I have with my annuity?
  • How can I use my savings and investments to meet my goals?
  • How will my lifestyle change?
  • How do I best make provisions and legacies for my family?
  • Where do I go for financial advice?

All opinions are provided by Nick Bamford and Shelly McCarthy of Informed Choice, with free2 acting as Podcast sponsor.

If you’re new to podcasts, why not give them a go? If you’re already a podcast fan, then we hope you’ll add these to your playlist.
