Buying Your Varifocals

Have you been recommended varifocals? Are you a varifocals-veteran? Or are you just curious? Whatever your reason for wanting to buy new varifocal lenses, we at Glasses Direct are here for you.

Varifocals help you to see everything near, far and all in between, with the extra added bonus of not needing to carry around multiple pairs with different prescriptions. However, we know that buying glasses online can seem like a daunting task, which is why we speak to all customers who are ordering varifocals from us for the first time to talk them through the process. However, regardless of whether you’re new to it all or a returning customer, with seemingly so much to consider, our expert on-hand opticians are always more than happy to help.

Once you have made an order, our opticians will review it and send you an email asking to check a copy of your prescription, plus instructions on how to take a selfie photograph for us to use for scaling purposes. When all is done and dusted on your end, you’ll receive a phone call from us. It’s as simple as that! Additionally, for added reassurance, we offer a full 90-day ‘tolerance guarantee’, giving you plenty of time to adjust to your new varifocals so you can buy with confidence.

Different Types of Varifocal Lens

There is choice everywhere nowadays, and most opticians will offer a broad range of varifocal lenses. With an increase in lens design options, it can be difficult finding the best choice – but we can help. We currently offer three types of varifocal – all of which use innovative lens technology to help you see life more clearly.

Varifocal Advanced:
Advanced lenses utilise Freeform technology to offer an enhanced field of vision at all distances, less distortion at the lens edge, and easy adaption for existing wearers when compared to more basic lenses.

Varifocal Elite HD:
Elite varifocal are a more sophisticated Freeform design than our Advanced lenses. They feature a wider field of vision for reading, with significantly less peripheral distortion. Easy for first-time wearers to adapt to, Elite HD offers a 30% improvement in field of vision compared to a conventional lens.

Varifocal Supreme HD:
Supreme varifocal lenses use cutting-edge high-definition Digital Ray Path technology to provide a 20% improved field of vision for intermediate and reading compared to the Elite lenses. They are especially good for computer and tablet use, and are our recommended varifocal for all wearers.
