Can You Lend a Paw and Give a Dog A Happy Holiday Home?

Are you a dog lover that can lend a paw by providing a happy holiday home to a doggy guest whilst their owners are away on holiday or business?

We are looking for honest, reliable and trustworthy dog lovers that can welcome a four-legged friend into their home. The Digs for Dogs holiday home boarding service provides our pooches and their owners with the perfect alternative to kennels and gives our home boarders the wonderful company of a dog without having to commit to the full-time responsibility. It has become so popular that we now urgently need to expand our network of home boarders.

Labrador and owner

We meet with all prospective home boarders to discuss your previous experience with pets and to establish the types of dogs you would be happy to board. This ensures that we only ever offer you a dog that suits your current lifestyle and you’ll only need to accept a guest into your home as and when you wish to.

We provide 24/7 support to ensure you are perfectly happy and confident in caring for your guest. You will be provided with a Pet Schedule detailing your requirements to walk, feed and provide care for your guest as specified by their owners. Dog food, beds, leads and everything else you need will be provided at the beginning of their stay.

Some dogs will only require an overnight or weekend stay, whereas others might have their bags packed and be set for a holiday stay of over a week or more. Sometimes we will bring a dog to your home for a sleepover before their holiday to give you the chance to get acquainted with your visitor and to ensure both you and your dog are the right match for one another.

Walking a dog gives you a great reason to get out and exercise

Walking a dog gives you a great reason to get out and exercise

Being a home boarder brings all the benefits of having a dog at home but without the full-time responsibility of owning one yourself;

  • A dog is the perfect fun loving friend to keep you company
  • Walking a dog gives you a great reason to get out and exercise in the fresh air
  • Meet new people by being part of a dog-loving community
  • If you’re already a dog owner, having a guest can provide companionship for your own dog
  • Having a dog around the home is proven to reduce your stress levels

The main reasons our home boarders do what they do are exercise, fun, increased social life and companionship.

June says: “When I lost my dog, I also lost a friendship circle and the opportunity to meet other dog owners. I’ve had so many dogs over the years and of late I’ve been so lonely that becoming a home boarder has actually changed my life”.

Digs for Dogs only provide boarding for well behaved, non-aggressive and house-trained pooches. We are fully licenced and insured for your peace of mind.
