As he has won the Tour and all his other medals he is at the very top of his game and he has an incredible personality-good luck to him in all he does-a true Brit!

Where Charlotte Dujardin Gold Medal winning Freestyle dressage to music? Double the achievement - her as athlete and horse trained as athlete too. Amazing achievement, yet all we see on the tv is BIKES! always described as "riders" - they are "cyclists".

I would not denigrate the achievements of these sports people.
However, I am thoroughly irritated by the amount of TV coverage. There is almost 24 hours broadcast of this on BBC. On those channels not showing it, it is business as usual; tired soaps with their ridiculous storylines, game shows, cookery programmes and repeats. No effort has been made to broadcast anything other than the same, dull, unimaginative offering. Soon the footie will begin, and in the near future, the World Cup. I have free view TV with many channels, but still nothing to watch. Fortunately I enjoy reading and walking, and am not dependent on TV for leisure. I would quite happily get rid of my television, were it not for the fact that I use it to watch DVDs.

Mo farah showed amazing strength of mind by the way he continued to race and win after falling. What a model for anyone of any age to emulate!

Yes I agree he is a fantastic inspiration. The sheer effort he makes especially at the end of the races is amazing. I felt sorry for Jessica Enis as wanted her to win the Gold. She seems such a nice person as well

Dame Mary Elizabeth Peters is my favourite Olympian. She inspired me in so many ways when I saw her (on TV) compete in 1964 and again when she won the Pentathlon Gold in 1972. I was a keen athlete myself back then in Northern Ireland and achieved much success in throwing events, especially the shot putt. She also competed for Northern Ireland at all of the Commonwealth Games between 1958 and 1974 and she won 2 gold medals in the pentathlon, and gold and silver medals for the shot putt. Amazing lady then, and now, and, she has the most magnificent smile.

We watched every bit of tv coverage of the Olympics when my husband was alive ( me not so much now) and our young son aspired to be the person who raised either the white or red flag to indicate the status of the long jump.I have a suspision he thought he would only have to work for a couple of weeks every four years! Thankfully his work ethic changed and he is a hardworking economics professor

Such amazing athletes are great role models. It's difficult to choose as they are all great! Sir Steve Redgrave and Tom Daley are just 2 examples of people who inspire others.

Sir Steve Redgraves are up there with the best Olympians of all time whether from Britain or he rest of the world. I remember staying up through the night to cheer him on and watch him win his 5th gold. Our Olympians make me feel proud to be British. These athletes deserve all the acclaim they get. It is good to see so many years dedication rewarded by their achievements. One person who is missing from the list is Greg Rutherford. He wouldn't be my first choice but he has proved his calibrate by winning gold at the Olympics and World Championships. For a small island we can hold our own against the rest of the world

I think Mo Farah is brilliant. The absolute determination he showed in his races at London 2012 was amazing. I also think Tom Daly is brilliant and I remember Daley Thompson as he was a super athlete in the 80s
