What is your grandparent name?

Grandparents go by a number of different names around the world, from Grandma to Nonno.

The reasons behind grandparent names are individual and unique; some families go with what’s always been used in their house, others carefully choose a name they’re comfortable with or use the word from a mother tongue.

With today’s poll we’re asking you – what’s your grandparent name? Tell us the story of how you chose it in the comments below!

We moved to Bavaria when our eldest daughter was a baby and our second daughter was born there. As they grew they began to call me Mutti, which is German for mummy. They called there father "Doodle". We moved back to England but the names stuck and when they had children of their own I became Grannymutti and my husband is Grampydoodle.
