Is climate change an urgent problem?I totally agree with several other writers. We have so much conflicting information to consume, that I for one really am sceptical about the scaremongering regarding climate. I want solid facts that all scientists agree on, before I buy into "we are doomed" .....ViewDate:

Would you trust driverless cars? Not at all sure about this technology, but somehow I think a vehicle without someone in control of it, sounds like a bridge too far. I would prefer not to see these on our roads.ViewDate:

Would you move to be closer to grandchildren?Could be a difficult decision especially when the children are small. However they grow up and lead their own lives and do not need you in the same way, and it just would not be right to want to spend all their time with Granny!! I love seeing how my grandkids have grown into their own lives. I also think it is the same with your children i.e. grandkids parents, they do not need you as much, and again have the right to their own lives without a clingon Granny. I am especially aware of this since my husband died, and have endeavoured to try and create my own life so as not to be a needy Granny. As luck has it we all live within easy visiting distance, but definitely do not live in each others pockets.ViewDate:

Would you get Botox or fillers done on the High Street?Oh dear me no, I have earned my lines and wrinkles I think they tell my story - so I shall keep them with no adjustments.....ViewDate:

Is university really worth the investment? In my view too many people think they should go to university almost as a right of passage. In my day.....( how I love that expression) !! only the very clever kids aspired to and got places at university and went on to suitable careers, where as the rest of us, ranging from moderately clever to not clever at all, went in to work that suited our abilities. Some did College, full time, or evening classes to better their education, and some went into apprenticeships Some of the degree subjects now are outrageous in my opinion.ViewDate:

Should Strictly introduce same-sex couples?Crumbs, - not that bothered, to be honest. Just recovering from knee replacement and prospect of second one in about a year!!! All this jigging about is not high on my agenda, however when I am a complete robot, I might think about it!!ViewDate:

Should Strictly introduce same-sex couples?Something askew here, I think most people just feel that the ball room dancing style is represented by a female role and a male role, with quite different "duties" as the dance partner. Two men or two women would simply not look right in any shape or form in these dances. But I do think there is sometimes too much emphasis on being politically correct with regard to acceptance of peoples choice of sexual preference and gender etc. etc. I have completely lost the number of titles added now!!! As I said previously I have no problem with whatever a persons choice is - but this dance programme needs to stay as it is.ViewDate:

Should Strictly introduce same-sex couples?I have no issue with anyone's preference of life partner, but I think dance was designed for a male role and a female role, so I would prefer to see men and women continuing to partner each other.ViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.New to this site, it seems like it could be fun, happy to have conversations with most people. I had a long career in nursing, particularly as a Hospice nurse, and then later in life a new career (20 years) as a counsellor specialising in grief and bereavement. I did a lot of other interesting things as a volunteer and indeed still do, don't like having nothing interesting to do. I love experimenting as an artist and I also help out as a volunteer in a primary school. The best fun ever, Love reading a good novel, and belong to a small reading group which I started many moons ago for bereaved ladies. Enjoy cinema and live theatre. Hope to find some interesting people here to interact with. Thanks for taking time to read.ViewDate:

Do you think Camilla should be crowned queen? No I don't think she should ever be Queen of England. That said, Camilla made a mistake in marrying her first husband, and Charles never should have married poor Diana. I was not her greatest fan, but I do think she was ill used and far too young. -
