Hibiscus1's bio
Hello,
I live more or less equidistant to Newbury, Basingstoke and Reading, in that sort of triangle. I am separated, and my lovely children have flown the nest to pursue their lives, as is natural. Sadly, my dog died recently too. I find I spend lots of time on my own, sometimes it is nice, many times not. Would love to meet others who might enjoy some company sometimes, just to share a coffee, a chat, a meal, an outing to the cinema, a walk, etc., and develop friendships. I practise Tai Chi.
Much is talked about loneliness these days, and there is even a Loneliness Ministry, but I don't see what they do, or I am not aware of it, but would love to join people, activities, to feel less lonely at times. Where are these activities? Where are the people who also feel lonely? Or was it just an academic exercise to find out who feels lonely, and what age groups, etc?
Not a church goer, so that is not an obvious place to me, even though I am told that churches are good community places. Find it insincire to join in if I do not subscribe to the beliefs. I enjoy reading, although recently it has been harder to do so.
I am quiet, shy, an introvert, who feels awkward in large gatherings where I do not know anyone, but I am happy to chat and share in smaller groups.
Anyone in my area who meets regularly? Would love to meet you and make meaningful friends.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Hibiscus1.
