Were you in the dark about menopause? It certainly came as a shock to me, I did not expect the changes that I would have to make in my life to deal with the mind and body altering effects the menopause has on me. It started at age 51 and 10 years later, I'm still suffering but I've learned not to push myself when I just feel like having a day off. I've always been active and ate well, even so, I've had to cut out all sugars, coffee and many other 'heaty' elements out of my life. I'm taking it one day at a time and always look at what I can still do and can still eat rather than what I can't do or eat anymore. Best wishes to all.ViewDate:

How many portions of fruit and veg do you eat each day?I think that you might have misunderstood my post, I don't eat meat therefore my whole day's expense on food is maximum £5. I don't digest sugars which means that my intake of fruits is limited but I take enzymes which help. Avocados are not fruit, they are probably the dearest item that I purchase but they are worth it as very versatile. People mock vegans until they try the diet themselves, it's not all grass and beans, it's fun, healthy and cheap.ViewDate:

How many portions of fruit and veg do you eat each day?As a vegan, I eat lots of vegetables, some nuts and about 3 fruits a day. As an example, I ate 11 portions yesterday. Most of them are quite basic, oats, nuts, lentils, seasonal vegs, banana, apple, avocado. It does not have to be expensive, I think that I spend about £5/day on average. Treats like vegan ice creams can be expensive but they are not a necessity.ViewDate:

Grumpy cornerWe can as individual make a choice of where we purchase our energy, ethical companies are rising and are very competitive price-wise with the big 6. It only takes about 10 mins to find an ethical alternative not only to energy but anything else that we purchase. The internet and its search engines have given us the power to change things, one person at a time and in a small way to contribute to a better future for all.ViewDate:
