Are you a Grandparent?Hello, I would love to have 14 grandchildren...but I'll settle for the two super amazing ones I have.... and I, too, am being very objective :-) . My fist grandchild came when I was 48 and the second at 52.ViewDate:

Games on your iPad, Laptop or phoneI don't have an iPad yet but I love playing casual games on my desktop computer. My grandson introduced me this new browser form Google and it has a lot of free games that you can install and play. You first have to install the browser (just search Google Chrome), then click the the webstore icon (I don't know how to describe it ...but it takes you here : https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/apps). Once you reach the store just click on the thumbnails of any game you find interesting and it will show you more details. If you like what you see just click the Add To Chrome button ( it's a blue button in the top right corner) and the game will be added to your start page. Once it's on your start page you can play it any time by just clicking on it. Here are a few nice games that I played and recommend : Solitaire (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/solitaire/lkbhppfbabandkdmgjmifahoabeodiep) Sudoku (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/sudoku/agdhembpgcpfegeigidembjopfhghnpj) Jigsaw Puzzles (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/jigsaw-puzzles-daily/fnjcfkigenhanhgbeajpachkjahjmmbk) Chess (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mobialia-chess-3d/nngfppohnieolpklikdmhbofoabooijm) Word Search (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/the-word-search-puzzles/bopklhjfkjagoccpoiaipoflajhhljgb) Cut the Rope (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/cut-the-rope/jfbadlndcminbkfojhlimnkgaackjmdo) Angry Birds (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/angry-birds/aknpkdffaafgjchaibgeefbgmgeghloj) Some of these are actually websites (when you click the icon in Chrome it will take you to a site) but they are all free and safe. My all time favorite is the jigsaw puzzles one (you can install it by going to it on the link above (3rd one ) in Chrome or at http://www.dailyjigsawpuzzles.net/ ). I've been playing the daily puzzle for over 6 months now and I can truly say I'm addicted. The wife loves it too .... we like to compare times and challenge each other for the best time. Hope you like my suggestions. I would love to see what other people are playing. All the best, JackViewDate:

Should households pay a universal flat-rate fee regardless of whether they own a TV?Why not encode the service and only give access to those who pay (if they choose to do so)? It used to be that radio and television were the only means of mass broadcasting and public information that helped both the government and people get information out or learn about things going on around the country/world. Radio/TV was like a public service and in this case a tax was OK; but now there are other alternative ways to get information like the internet, private tv/radio stations, etc ... so I don't agree with paying for something that is not essential for our society. We should be paying for things like better schools, hospitals, roads, etc... not for something that we don't use/ can do without. Entertainment/information should be something you choose to pay for.ViewDate:

Are you plagued by nuisance phone calls? These kind of calls where really annoying until my grandson helped me setup an app on my phone .... now I can set my phone to ring only when I already have the number that's calling me (so only people I know); it will still display a message that someone is calling me but it doesn't ring. You can even black list numbers and set some more complex rules...but I haven't got the hand of those yet. I've noticed that the more unwanted calls you don't answer the less calls you get... I guess they remove you from some databases. So if you have a smart phone ask someone who knows about phones to help you set up such a call screening app. I would tell you what mine's called but I can't seem to find the damn thing. I'm kind of useless when it comes to technology. So the best strategy in my opinion is "ignore them maybe they'll go away" :) Jack -
