Should Donald Trump be prevented from making a State Visit to the UK?325,000 people entered the USA yesterday. 109 were detained for further investigation, most of whom were allowed to continue their journey. Draconian? I don't think so; besides we would be livid if another country tried to dictate to us who can or cannot enter the UK...............oh, sorry they do. (The upshot of which is Britex).ViewDate:

Should the House of Lords be reformed?Life peerages should not be handed out by political parties to the 'party faithful' like 'gold watches' at the end of their 'use by' period. Indeed life peerages should be phased out completely. The 'members' should be elected for a limited (maximum) period of time, for example two five-year terms, during which they should be paid expenses only (without an additional pension; long term ex-MP's are sufficiently remunerated already). Rules should also be in place to prevent a majority in both Houses of Parliament simultaneously, thus providing a reasonable balance when proposed Laws are scrutinised in the upper chamber. Anyone proven to have behaved in a manner likely to bring the House into disrepute through criminal, immoral or anti-social activities or behaviour should be dismissed summarily (that should also be a rule for MP's).ViewDate:

Will you be tuning in to the pre-General Election TV debate?Nigel Farage has stated that he will attack all parties for an acknowledgement that the UK has no chance of ever achieving the electorate's desired levels of immigration whilst we are in the EU.ViewDate:

Will you be tuning in to the pre-General Election TV debate?Milliband is being deliberately evasive with the way he is answering that question, his desire for power will over-ride the interests of the UK and endanger the Union because the SNP will ensure that they glean benefits far beyond what they already have. The whole SNP agenda is focused on one objective - independence for Scotland, regardless of costs to all members of the UK and Northern Ireland including Scotland. Miliband is a fool if he thinks he can control SNP ambitions. Negative voting by the SNP, or it's threat, will cause havoc.ViewDate:

Should Jeremy Clarkson be sacked or reinstated?Without knowing all the facts pertaining to this particular case it is impossible to comment wholly objectively. No doubt the popularity of Mr Clarkson and 'Top Gear' will have a large bearing on the eventual outcome of this issue. Sadly, that leaves the 'other party' at a great disadvantage in the 'trial by media' currently underway. The outcome of this indiscipline by an employee really depends upon how much credibility the BBC want to come out of it with. Is 'Aunty' willing to compromise her integrity and sacrifice her credibility on the alter of profit and populism or, will she have the courage to take the action that the vast majority of employers would take in a case like this and sack an employee for an act of violence? I believe that regardless of the eventual outcomes the BBC will be the long-term loser; it is 'damned if it does, and damned if it doesn't. I also believe that if the BBC had 'squeezed the pimple' that is Mr Clarkson for his previous misdemeanours they would not now be faced with the pain of this problem of 'carbuncle' proportions. I await the the outcomes with baited breath.
