Do you refer to it as Mothering Sunday or Mother's Day?Mothering Sunday. This is yet another Christian festival day hijacked by card producers to make money. I asked in a card shop whether they had any Nativity Christmas cards last December, only to have a very irate lady demand to know what Christmas had to do with religion……….ViewDate:

Win a holiday for 2 to New Zealand! My first husband was from NZ. When he passed away within a year of our wedding, his parents took him back to NZ for burial. I’ve never seen his grave. For 46 years I’ve dreamed of going there. One day......... xxxxViewDate:

WASPI - Dreams lie in tattersI had a lovely letter from DWP when I reached 60 telling me I had to wait 5 years, 4 months and 26 days. By my reckoning, they’ve stolen nearly 40 thousand pounds from me. I’d paid in all my working life and feel cheated, makes me wonder why I bothered!ViewDate:

Should we use Happy Holidays instead of Happy Christmas?Christmas starts with Christ. If others don’t like it, they can always leave. If secular folks don’t like it, what are they celebrating for? We are slowly being marginalised in our own country. I always wish Jewish, Seikhs, Hindi etc. friends Happy whatever on their holy days. I once wished Happy Eid to a Muslim acquaintance and she spat in my face. I won’t be doing that again! Neither will I ever stop wishing all and sundry a happy and peaceful Christmas, and if you don’t like it, tough! xxxxxxxxxxViewDate:

Should same-sex couples be allowed to get married in a church?Thank you so much. I will stand for my beliefs and hold fast to the word of God. We knew it wouldn't be easy and, indeed, it isn't! We are in the end times and I so wish many people could have the assurances I have. I'll never stop trying to show them the way. xxxxViewDate:

Should same-sex couples be allowed to get married in a church?Thank you! I'm currently doing Reader Training and have been accused of being "too Anglican" by some of the modernists. As mine is an Anglican Church, it amused me greatly If you want to be part of a club, you must expect to obey the rules. Sadly there are too many people out there who regard the Bible as irrelevant and outdated. We've even got a woman running one of the churches in the benefice who refuses to have the Lords Prayer said as she doesn't think it's 'modern' enough. The one prayer Jesus gave us......... I will be carrying a banner for Jesus and teaching His word. xxViewDate:

Should same-sex couples be allowed to get married in a church? We are heading for a schism and without strong leadership, the C of E will ultimately fold. There will be a rise of 'New Wine' type of churches where everything is watered and dumbed down so no one can be offended by it. God will be relegated to the back pew - if he's allowed in at all. I despair.ViewDate:

Should Nigel Farage be ennobled in the House of Lords? Why is this a preposterous suggestion? The odious Peter Mandelson - he who was forced to resign TWICE from government then went off to Brussels to make a fortune for himself personally- was made a Lord when he should be in prison for fraudulent practices. Now that really is an appalling mis use of power! At least Nigel Farage gave the common people a chance to have their voices heard. There would have been no referendum without him. Time the remoaners got over the fact that they lost. Which bit of democracy don't they understand? The elite and the rich have had the kick up the pants they sorely needed. Thank you, Nigel, I finally have a voice!ViewDate:

Is recognising 'gender neutral' going to get complicated?Jeanmark, I'm sorry if I've come across as aggressive, it certainly wasn't meant. What we need is far more respect and tolerance and love for our fellow human beings. My solution to this issue is that more people be allowed to use the disabled toilets, which are gender neutral anyway, to give anyone, whatever their circumstances, privacy and dignity at all times.ViewDate:

Is recognising 'gender neutral' going to get complicated?I am generally tolerant and extremely understanding as befits a psychologist, but we are talking about a very tiny minority here and, if we go down the road of changing every little thing to accommodate every minority stance, it will all become a complete farce. I have every sympathy with gender-confused people but the world cannot and must not revolve around them to the disadvantage of the vastly bigger majority. I use a wheelchair but I don't expect the world to grind to a halt to accommodate me. Or should I demand they put a stair-lift up every mountain in the UK just so I can get up there and admire the view?ViewDate:

Is recognising 'gender neutral' going to get complicated?Look, if you have a Y chromosome you're a male. If you don't, you're a female. End of. If someone feels something is not right or they'd just prefer to be something else, the problem is psychological and there is help out there for that. In the meantime, let's just have Ladies and Gents toilets as we always have. Why do we have to constantly have to pander to vocal minorities? Get over yourselves.ViewDate:

Do you support or oppose junior doctors in all-out strike?Has anyone actually read the offer that they've rejected? This is all about politics. The NHS would have more than enough funding to ensure they recruited enough staff to cover 24/7/365 if we hadn't employed layer upon layer of management and actually charged anyone who had no right to free treatment. When did we become the International Health Service? As a political comment, what is managements use of agency staff if it's not using the private sector?? They employ enough useless pen pushers to run their own recruitment agency. These agency nurses and doctors cost the NHS ten times as much as ordinary members of staff do. Shame on them. Having said that, I totally disagree with the strike, but like everything else, it's just a job nowadays, not a vocation.ViewDate:

Should St George's Day and St David's Day be National Holidays?I would love to see St. George's day as a holiday. Unfortunately, it seems that any patriotism in England is almost a criminal offence with words like xenophobic and bigot bandied around if you have the audacity to want an English identity. Do it before it's too late!! xxxxxViewDate:

Should terminally ill patients have the right to die? This is an awful and emotive subject. Whilst wanting to give those with suicide in mind the means to end their own suffering, we could also be condemning a lot of people to coercion and pressure by unscrupulous or greedy people who would benefit from someone's speedier death. I'm disabled, wheelchair-bound and have several faulty genes which predispose me to cancer. I'm also a Christian, which colours my opinion. I could never ask someone to be complicit in my death, and I don't feel that doctors should be either. The Hippocratic Oath States "do no harm". If this Bill is passed, I strongly believe that it will be the thin end of a very large wedge. We ought to be spending money on hospices and palliative end of life care. This wanting someone else to 'do the deed' and finish us off is yet another symptom of failing to take responsibility for our own actions. I pray, on behalf of all the vulnerable people out there, that this Bill will not succeed.ViewDate:

Have you noticed that pack sizes have shrunk while prices remain unchanged?I totally agree with this! Especially the waggon wheels, all chocolate sweets, in fact everything I enjoy eating! Grrrrr what really makes me angry is when manufacturers deny it, one actually told me that it was me getting bigger that made products look smaller - words fail me...... -
