Will you be sending Christmas cards this year?I stopped celebrating christmas and sending cards back in the 1970s when I found the entire thing a burden. Nowadays I just email people or contact them on facebook etc. Postage is far too expensive to send a physical card.ViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.I love the music of the 50s and 60s too! I was born in Liverpool and never a great Beatles fan because I was into the American music scene. Roy Orbison, Del Shannon and Gene Pitney were my favorites. However I always liked Lennon-McCartney as composers. Yesterday and Eleanor Rigby are two of the most haunting songs I know.ViewDate:

working in our 60sI began running my own business full time when I retired in 2010. I had been selling vintage items online for a few years part time and expanded it into a full time business when I ceased employed work. I began with a little shop on Ebay but have now graduated to selling on some of the top international antiques sites. It now seems to me ironic that my first job age 15 was working in a Greek takeaway where I found I was good at what is now called "upselling". Now I have come back to selling, having had a number of professional jobs in between. If I had my time back and knowing what I know now I would never have gone to work for an employer. I would have done what Alan Suger did and started my business from a market stall. Ive always admired self made people. I also admire older people who work whether its in an employed job, running their own business or volunteering. It gives you something to get up out of bed for in the morning.
