Relationship break downsI broke up with my daughter and grandchildren for over six years when my daughter married her second husband. Unbeknown to me at the time my daughters new mother-in-law was stirring trouble, she was telling my daughter that I thought more of my son and daughter in law than I did of her. It became really nasty whereby my daughter was blaming me for everything that had gone wrong in her life. It got to the stage that everytime I spoke to her I would end up in tears. My husband, my daughters step-father then stepped in and said enough was enough. I had to walk away I said to her I would never close the door on her, the door would always be open. I never spoke to her or saw her family for six years. The one day I received a message from her on facebook and we began talking, not alot at first but it grew. I then found out what had happened with her new mother in law and what was going on. It has taken until now to get close again to my daughter. It broke my heart at the time when it happened but I insisted I would never close the door on her it was her decision.ViewDate:

Looking after a grandchildI am aged 62 and my husband is 63. We look after our 3 1/2 year old grandson five days a week. He also stays with us overnight on a Monday and Tuesday night. My daughter in law lost eight babies and my grandson was the only one that survived. We have looked after my grandson since he was born as his mum suffered from depression. We would not be without our miracle baby he makes us laugh and keeps us young. Who would have thought that we would be crawling around the floor at 60 plus years of age playing with a child. My grandson absolutely adores us as grandparents. It was tiring when he was a baby but the love we received from him outwayed it all. His mum had to go back to work full time as my son is on a basic wage and rather than be unemployed he works hard and takes whatever overtime he can. Our miracle baby has since September started Nursery three days a week so we take him and collect him from school. We cannot imagine what life would be like now without him. People say it must be hard work, yes it is, but the enjoyment and love we get from him outweighs everything else.ViewDate:

I would like to make new friends for general conversation onlyHi, just introducing myself as I am new on here. Would like to make new friends for chatting. I have recently retired and now look after my 3 1/2 year old grandson during the week. Thought I should find some adults to chat too before I get completely taken over by Blaze and the Paw Patrol. I have a son who lives in Cambridgeshire with his family and a daughter who has just settled in Scotland after her husband has just completed his stint in the army. I myself live in Cambridgeshire with my husband who has had to retire early due to ill health. -
