Has Theresa May got the right financial balance for pensioners?I am a Pensioner aged 67, receiving my State Pension and a small Local Government Pension. My husband receives his own Pensions. I think the triple lock is unsustainable and have been saying for ages that it should be a double lock, so I welcome this proposal. It was also a matter of time before the WFA was means-tested; we as a couple almost certainly will not qualify. I accept this. As for the care fees, well the country can't afford it so I suppose if you have the assets you should pay. As I understand it, if the house has a charge against it, it will not have to be sold until the second partner dies. And you will still be able to leave £100k to your loved ones. Not ideal, but inevitable I think. Of course, do remember that if you can pay the fees through income and/or savings , then there will not be a charge put on your house and you will be free to leave it to your loved ones unemcumbered.ViewDate:

Do you think Camilla should be crowned queen?I always thought she was far better for Charles than Diana ever was. He will be a better King with her by his side. Yes, let her be crowned.ViewDate:

Should smokers, drinkers, drug users and obese people be charged to see the doctor?First post, so be gentle!! I certainly think we should pay for our food while in hospital, we would have to pay for it if we were at home. They could have menus like a restaurant. Or, the choice for a relative to bring food in if you didn't want to pay for the hospital food. The hospital catering should offer more choice than it does at present. I do not think we should pay to visit the Doctor. However, I do think we should be charged £5 if we miss an appointment without cancelling it first.
