Silversurfers Book Club Spring 2017Patricia Scanlan is one of my favourite writers. , she is has a feel good way about her, a bit like Maeve Binchy, One book I read that has stayed with a long time, is We are all made of Stars by Rowan Coleman, a beautiful story, Stella is works in a hospice and each night she writes letters for he patients, their final wishes and thoughts, It will have you sobbing, and laughing, and it will stay with you, but one thing I can guarantee is you will recommend it to your friends and family xxViewDate:

Memory LaneCaroleAH. ooh how lucky you were, I would have loved to have helped with the animals, I have longed to live on a farm, the closest I got was going to collect eggs and milk, from a farm in Sidcup, Kent, when I stayed with my cousins, and got to stroke the horses and sheep, and could not believe how big the cows were! but so gentle, I don't agree with your sister, you don't need organised trips you were not neglected, if you were so was I , and many other children, we went Blackberry picking and conker collecting, what we had CaroleAH is FUN! climbing trees, and riding bikes, for picnics, , happy memories, Lovely talking to you xxViewDate:

Memory LaneI agree with you, ecarg, andjeanmark the people we meet enrich the experiences of life, and may they always do so, I still have friends from childhood, and even though they live miles away from me, we still keep in touch, so I am happy we now have the internet, because we the Silversuffers can speak to each other, and as I am fairly new on here, thank you all for answering my question, xxViewDate:

Should shops remain closed on Boxing Day?Yes shops should stay closed on Boxing Day, We don't need to shop everyday, we have freezers etc, My husband works in Sainsbury and they open on Boxing day, so he only gets Christmas Day off, unless his day off falls on Christmas Day or Boxing Day,, It is more like Dickens times, now, we should be going forward not backwards!ViewDate:
