As a new spring begins

As a new spring begins

A walk in the woods
With my four legged friend
Knows where he’s going
Leads to defend.

No one to talk to
Just plenty to see
Entering perfection
To set your mind free.

Greeted by rustling
As the wind wafts the leaves
Two weeks ago
There was nothing but trees.

Close your eye’s
Let sound take you along
The birds join in the chorus
With a welcoming song.

The scent of bluebells
As they take there last breath
Brings moments of pleasure
Then they fade into death.

A tree that says hug me
So I did, and behold
I was taken to serenity
And returned when told.

The far cry of children
As they play in the park
No cares or worries
Got hours before dark.

The leaves sway while waving
The large blackbird sings
Leaving the wood
As a new spring begins.
