First Love …

First Love

First love is special, it really grips your heart,
You swear undying love, never to be apart.
You’re happy, life is good, you feel great,
You believe you’ve found your soulmate.

Your love gets stronger, his begins to wane
He’s playing the field, you feel such pain.
He starts to treat you very mean,
You love him, but he’s not so keen.

He doesn’t love you, he wants to part,
You think you’ll die of a broken heart
Then first love is cruel, it hurts like mad,
It makes you cry, and you’re so very sad.

Time to remember this is your first love,
Plenty of time to find another one to love.
Each day that passes will help ease the pain,
You have much to give, so much to gain.

So dry your tears, bring on your smiles,
Little by little you’ll feel better by miles.
You will forget him, he wasn’t for you,
A better man will hear you say “I do”
