Life

This poignant poem was written by Kath Workman …

Life

Twisted bouquets of torn desire,

Leave my soul ice-cold on fire,

Unfolding roses dripping blood,

Killing thorns of the wood,

Chrysanthemum of the heart,

Dropping petals as we part,

Ferned around with soft lies,

Blushing velvet, clutching ties,

Wired stems to cling together,

Cutting sap of loves tether,

Scented aroma of loves beauty,

Watered fondly, as is duty,

Pressed and dried into memory,

Discarded, gently place in cemetery,

Twisted bouquets of loves desire,

Leave my soul ice-cold on fire.
