Summertime

Summertime

I know we need rain
But when will it stop
The weed’s won’t stop growing
Plants loosing the plot.

Wellies working overtime
They’re not impressed
Sandals and high heels
Feeling very depressed

Short’s and T-shirt’s
Are raring to go
Long summer dresses
All stand in a row.

Barbecues planned
Then taken inside
Or wet soggy baps
Looks like the salad has died.

Summer sales
Join the queue
Take your brolly
Thunderstorm due.

Stay at home
The football’s on
Wimbledon next week
Summer’s gone.

Don’t despair
It’s only rain
In another twelve months
It will be summer again.
