Do you prefer your chocolate from the fridge or at room temperature?

It's World Chocolate Day!

It’s time to get stuck into a serious debate on one of life’s most pressing issues…

It is not refrigerated in-store but many of us keep our supplies of the delicious brown stuff in the fridge once we bring it home. Others don’t see the point of it.

Is there a right and wrong way to store your chocolate at home? Is it a personal preference and does everyone who lives in the same house share the same taste?

Should chilled chocolate come to room temperature before you eat it? Does cold chocolate melt and disperse flavour as nicely as room temperature chocolate?  And possibly, more importantly, can your teeth cope with chilled chocolate straight from the fridge?

So many unanswered questions …

What are your views? Do you prefer your chocolate chilled or at room temperature? Or should we have a product-by-product assessment?

203 people have already voted, what's your opinion? I like it room temperature I like it straight from the fridge

I only enjoy dark chocolate, over 70%. The good thing is you can’t eat too much, and the flavour is very strong. Also if you do eat more, dark chocolate is good for you!

There's something, to me, very satisfying and rather exotic taking chocolate from the fridge and letting it slowly melt on my tongue. As the square of delight gently melts different sensations of taste and texture tease the taste buds......and lasts longer than room temperature chocolate!

Not touched chocolate [ well presume it was supposed to be chocolate ! ] which was in the food parcels from Cruz Rojo during the last WW2. The stuff in question did not need cooling or heating as it was an inert substance !!

I just like chocolate!

It's a later life thing, couldn't stand the stuff until I retired!

I had a midlife crisis and thoroughly enjoyed it without chocolate. Got a lot older and still didn't like the stuff.

Anyone make sense of that?

Room temp for me - flavour is more intense and my teeth can't handle chilled chocolate, unless it is a soft truffle and then I like it chilled!
