Getting Around!

If you fancy a road trip in Ireland, the good news is that you can use your valid full UK driving license to drive in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.  If you’re renting a car, it’s advisable to always check in advance for any additional requirements from the car rental company. Cars in Ireland drive on the left hand side, with Irish roads generally of a high standard. Northern Ireland uses miles per hour, while the Republic of Ireland uses kilometres.

Public transport is a great option and an ideal way to see our beautiful countryside.

Having Fun!

We often get asked where’s the best place to go in Ireland? There is no one answer as wherever you go you will find friendly people, beautiful landscapes, amazing heritage, unique culture and memories that will last a lifetime.

For city lovers, Dublin, Cork, Galway, Belfast and Limerick hit the high notes, whilst breathtaking scenery can be found at every corner on the Wild Atlantic Way which stretches from Donegal in the North West to West Cork in the South (1600 miles in total!). Ireland’s Ancient East provides visitors with the perfect opportunity to explore and discover 5000 years of Ireland’s history and culture, whilst a quieter and more realxed pace can be enjoyed in Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands. Not fogetting Northern Ireland which is ideal for a short break with friends.

Whether you want rest or excitement, time alone or with others, low cost or luxury, let Golden Ireland help you plan your next trip in Ireland.
