Essential India – Royal Rajasthan
This itinerary really is the essential journey of Rajasthan. Stretching beyond the golden triangle to include the breath-taking city of the lakes, Udaipur this is the perfect journey to explore the highlights of Royal Rajasthan.
DAY 1: ARRIVE DELHI
Arrive India’s capital city of Delhi. On arrival stay at The Imperial Hotel.
DAY 2: DELHI
After a leisurely start, explore the myriad sights of Old and New Delhi. The wide boulevards of Lutyens’ New Delhi contrast dramatically with the narrow streets and scattered monuments that dominate Old Delhi.
DAY 3: DELHI – UDAIPUR
Morning flight to Udaipur and stay 2 nights at the stunning Taj Lake Palace Hotel. Afternoon tour of this beautiful lake city.
DAY 4: UDAIPUR – RANAKPUR – UDAIPUR
Full day excursion to the exceptional Jain Temples at Ranakpur. Lunch will be at the Maharani Bagh Orchard.
DAY 5: UDAIPUR – JAIPUR
Morning drive to Jaipur and stay 2 nights at the Taj Rambagh Palace. After lunch explore the ‘Pink City’, the bustling metropolis that is Rajasthan’s capital, seeing the Observatory and the City Palace.
DAY 6: JAIPUR
Morning drive past the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds) and continue to Amber. Ascend to this hilltop fort on elephant back. Return to the hotel for lunch and an afternoon at leisure.
DAY 7: JAIPUR – AGRA
Morning drive to Agra via one of India’s most glorious sites – the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri. On arrival in Agra, stay 2 nights at the Oberoi Amarvilas.
DAY 8: AGRA
Dawn visit to the Taj Mahal which is strikingly beautiful at this hour. Continue with a full day exploring Agra, seeing Agra Fort and Itmad-ud-daulah.
DAY 9: AGRA – DELHI
After a morning at leisure, afternoon drive to Delhi via Akbar’s imposing mausoleum at Sikandra. Room at disposal at The Trident, Gurgaon until late tonight. After dinner, depart for the airport.
DAY 10: DEPART DELHI
Early morning departure for onward destination.
