Excellarrat, a wonderful "Hello" from Manchester, UK! Today (Sunday) we have had sunshine, blue skies albeit a little colder than expected with a good breeze.
After deliberating for a few weeks I finally decided to join this site, so far so good. How is it you have found yourself here?
Just to be clear by not increasing the tax fresh hold if you have a small private pension along with the triple lock increase many will now have to pay income tax.
So give with one hand take away with the other.
Never ceases to amaze me the amount of contempt the privileged in society treat ordinary people with, even more amazing we let them do it.
The prince Andrew interview on T.V shows the utter contempt they have for our intelligence, Andrew actually believed that we would accept that nonsense as truth.
The water companies get fined for dumping pollution in our rivers then increase charges to the public to pay the fines, tax by the back door, meanwhile the bosses and the shareholders get a nice pay increase all on the tax payer.
Taxes will increase to repair the intentional damage done to the NHS in order to drive people into money making private medicine, if you cant get insurance you can go and die, they don't care, its all about profits, what a terrible me, me, me society we are leaving for the next generation.
To summarise the last 14 years of a Tory government have left in tatters.
G.P services.
Hospital Doctors.
Hospitals.
Dental services.
Ambulances.
Social care.
Road infrastructure.
Police force.
Railway.
School teachers.
Schools.
Housing.
Most of the above you can have if you can afford to pay for them privately, otherwise tough.
Daisymaisy, 1 days ago started a new topic: Friends
Hi, I'm a retired female in my mid 60's and quite new to the Essex/Suffolk area, so looking to hopefully find some new friends. I enjoy walking, gardening, animals, crafts, days out and travel
I usually get my State Pension paid into my account every 28 days. I was last paid on 28/3 so was expecting a payment on 25/4. To date, nothing has arrived. There's never been a late payment in my 7 years of claiming. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Newly joined, or should I say re-joined , was a member a lot of years ago but lapsed. 86, retired but full time carer for my wife of 90 who unfortunately has dementia.
My interests, playing a keyboard, badly these days, hands aren't what they were. but the wife thinks I play marvellously. It helps that she's deaf. I also am an avid reader. I have a Kindle and buy from Amazon but must confess my go to books are old favourites many of fifty years or more.
Would like to hear from anyone who is interested in the older authors. As you may appreciate, whilst I am with my wife 24/7 her ability to converse is extremely limited and chatting generally is something I miss. We are somewhat isolated. We have family, most live away and have their own lives to live. Enough of my moans, Look forward to a chat with some of you. briber
