My favourite ? Mike and the Mechanics - The Living Years (easily found on YouTube). Speaks eloquently of the friction between generations caused by the different times and experiences we face.

Rather poignant if somewhat depressing lyrics - in my humble opinion.

Queen - ‘Father to son’.

Even more depressing and miserable is this offering.

Mike & the Mechanics - ‘The living years’.

But depress not children, to lighten the mood, there’s alway this.

Church on the move - ‘Dad life’.

Oh Mein Papa by Eddie Calvert is the song that always makes me think of my dear late father. It was really mum who brought us up as dad was out working all the time - but I was a daddy's girl and still miss talking with him.
