Are you paying too much for your glasses?

Paying too much for your glasses?  It’s always good to book an eye test around every 2 years or before, it’s a little similar to those routine check ups at the dentist.

If you keep a lookout, you can sometimes find offers for a FREE Eye test!

M&S Members, Boots loyalty card members or check on Money Saving Expert for any current offers on a free Eye test! If you can’t find a free one, we would highly recommend Boots, as they also provide a retinal photography option too and they regularly have offers available if you time it right.  Of course you might be entitled to a free eye test so its always worth checking with your optician.  Plus check your benefits with your employer – many give vouchers for a free eye test or you can claim the cost back.

Once you’ve had your eye test, that you’ve either paid for/or are entitled to, you will be passed onto a sales person, who will review your prescription. This is where the high street opticians make their money – by selling you frames and lenses.

Now here’s the thing, thank them for their service and leave to find some much more reasonably priced glasses online.  You could save £100’s.  It is a legal requirement for your optician to not link your eye test/prescription to the sale of glasses. Simply ask for a copy of your prescription.

Some examples comparing in-store lens prices, compared to our online prices:

Tailor Made Varifocals

In-store: £159 vs Low Cost Glasses Online for £49 (currently with 40% off)

Bifocals

In-store: £49 vs Low Cost Glasses Online for £39

We even have frames for as little as £2.99! Even if you’re looking for something in particular, such as a rimless or lightweight frame, be sure to have a good look online, as we have lots of options for a fraction of the price.

Once you have your prescription, buying your glasses online with Low Cost Glasses could not be easier …. you can even virtually try on any glasses frame from the comfort of your own home, we’ve even had some customers’ pets give it a go too!

If you’re having difficulty filling in your prescription, don’t worry because we’re able to assist you 24/7, not to mention we also offer a FREE service, where you can take a picture of your prescription and upload it and we’ll check that it is all entered correctly for you! So, rest assured that you’re ordering the right lenses for your frames.

The savings we make by not having high street stores are passed on to our customers, through better prices, a broader product range and a faster service: Supplying you with fantastic glasses at affordable prices. We’re Low Cost but High Quality and pride ourselves on our spectacular TrustPilot reviews too!
