How a Vintage Cash Cow customer made over £1,800 from a Spring Clear Out – and so can you…
Julia Farcas, a 69 year-old woman from Richmond Upon Thames decided to clear out her house during the pandemic and sent some of her family’s unused possessions to Vintage Cash Cow, a free service offering an easy way to sell old stuff. She had no idea that her first box would be worth just under £2,000.
After inheriting various old and vintage items from relatives, Julia decided that it was time to finally clear everything out.
She wanted to sell her father’s old photo cameras, as well as jewellery and silver plated trays, because she didn’t want to hold on to those items pointlessly. As the charity shops were all closed at the time and other online selling platforms seemed too complicated for her, one of her friends recommended Vintage Cash Cow.
Her box of items was appraised by Vintage Cash Cow Head Appraiser and Co-Founder, Antony Charman, alongside Dickinson’s Real Deal expert David Hakeney (pictured above) and achieved an impressive £1,832.
Julia recounts, “I just don’t know what I would have done without Vintage Cash Cow! I didn’t want to leave my children with a mass of things to sort out, like what happened to me.”
Vintage Cash Cow say the 3 main reasons the over 50s use clear out services like theirs are to create extra space in the home (especially after downsizing), to unlock extra cash, or to pass on inherited items for a new lease of life.
Julia adds, “After using the service, I would tell anyone contemplating sending a box to definitely do it, as it’s very convenient and trustworthy. The customer care is absolutely brilliant and I’m so pleasantly surprised by the whole experience! They’ve made my life so much easier and now I’m in the process of another clear out as a result.”
If you too have old and vintage items lying around, you’ll be pleased to know that Vintage Cash Cow just launched the Spring Clear Out campaign to encourage people to declutter and make some extra money in the process. Anybody who sends a box before 14th May will be enrolled into a prize draw to win £1,000 cash plus another £1,000 for a charity of his/her choice.
Clear your home while minimising the waste, as Vintage Cash Cow is aiming to find a new lease of life for 40 tonnes of items gathered through this campaign.
Turning clutter into cash is an easy three-step process.
First, hunt around the home for old treasures you’d like to sell and pack them into a box. This is then posted to the Vintage Cash Cow head office with a choice of free Post Office drop off, or a free home collection. Their experts carefully appraise the items and will make you a cash offer. You can accept the offer and receive the payment via same-day bank transfer or cheque in the post, or choose to have the belongings returned for free. A no obligation, free of charge service to help take the hassle and haggling out of selling.
