Take me home

This is a very moving poem written by Tracey Curtis who used to work in a dogs home ….

Take me home

Here we go again
They’re opening up the gate,
In come all the people
I have to sit and wait.                                                                                                                                                                                     
I’ll try again, I won’t give up
I’ll do a little dance,
They seem to take one look at me
Then say “he has no chance.”

I’m just a little puppy dog
I only have one eye,
Will you stop and look at me?
Please don’t pass me by.

I’m really very friendly
I promise I won’t bite,
I’m getting very frightened here
On my own at night.

I know I’m not as pretty
As the other dogs you see,
But could you find it in your heart
To love a dog like me.

I love to go for walks
I don’t pee on the floor,
I come when called, I stay when told
I even shake my paw.

I love my belly tickled
I’ll never run away,
I’ll be good I promise you
Take me home today.

No! No! Please don’t go
I can be very calm,
Sorry that I barked at you
I didn’t mean no harm.

But wait a moment, what is this?
They’re coming with a key,
The man seems to have a lead
They’re going to set me free.

“Come on boy it’s time to go
You have a nice new home,
From this day on, you will be loved
And you’ll never be alone.”

Woof!! Woof!!

Hello..I'm Tracey Curtis....I'm 53 years old, I'm Married to Kelvin & I have 2 children. I live in North Devon UK...& I have a Dog Called Tasha..she is a Rottweiler..we also had our beautiful German Shepard Blade..but sadly we had to have him put to sleep on 14-6-14...as he was ill..this broke our hearts..but he is still with me in my profile pic bless him..RIP..My boy Blade....I love animals..& I love to play my piano in my spare time.....But poetry is my biggest passion.., although I am dyslexic it doesn't stop me....I write funny poems , but I also write all sorts of poems...I tend to write about what I see around me..& I also write from the heart ..I enjoy making people laugh & smile with my poems..& some people cry with some I have written .................. .I Now have 16 book published ..you can find them from AMAZON ,..thanks to Sally at silversurfers, and to you all on here..for your support..& encouragement...& i will still be sharing poems on here for you to enjoy too...thanks every one..I'm so happy..:) x.And feel free to add my as a FB F Friend..I'm always happy to have new nice friends on board x
