A QUICK GUIDE TO HELP YOU ON YOUR WAYYes Norah, I love doing jigsaw puzzles. I find them relaxing to the mind, and fun just achieving the finished result. They can be very challenging which I love. My favourites are usual beautiful scenery. but have taken on some different subjects recently. With this last year of home confinement I have found jigsaws a life saver from boredom. I have many hobbies also but its good to do something that isn't technological for a change. I did try online jigsaws but didn't find that much fun. Looking at the sales figures this last year for jigsaw puzzles, it apparently has doubled. From baby puzzles to a 100 year olds puzzles. I think they will go on forever.ViewDate:

The amazing health benefits of a 30-minute walkWhat an incredible man Captain Tom Moore is,he puts the rest of us to shame...His name should be honored in some way by the government for what he has acquired for the National Health system. Because Britain is supposed to be a nation of animal lovers, could someone start a cause to gather money for all the rescue centers and animal sanctuaries, these places rely on visitors and donations to fund these places. If help doesn't come I fear all the animals will have to be put down...After such trauma and bad beginnings to there lives has this really got to be the way there lives end.ViewDate:

Should plant nurseries and growers be allowed to sell their plants? This could be controlled the same as supermarkets, people spaced and in line allowing the correct amount of people at one time. assistants guiding as in supermarkets. Surely if people are confined to there homes in Spring and summer, gardening is the perfect way to occupy people, and once they have purchased there plants and seeds they would be more inclined to stay home. I really think this is an excellent idea. This would be most beneficial to the aged community who are restricted more than anyone else..We all know that this is already a favorite hobby of older people, why punish them like this.ViewDate:

Are you concerned about Mothering Sunday visits?I agree that is is safer not to visit. my son and daughter live over a hundred miles away from where I live and there visits are so precious to me as they are so few. I am 80 this year and this was to be a special Mothers day, but I decided to be sensible and cancelled there visits and they agreed it was the right thing to do...We will talk on the phone on Sunday and they will send me cards because they want to. Hopefully I will see them in the summer.ViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months? This is of course a very serious issue but not entirely realistic. I am 79 I live alone i have no family for hundreds of miles and my few friends are over 70..I live in a rural area. This just isn't possible..I need exercise, like walking and I need human companionship at sometime of the day. This isolation will cause terrible depression in many old people who are in the same situation as myself...The need for caution is very serious, but surely a walk a day without mixing with people should be recommended.ViewDate:

Should women have time off work for menopausal symptoms?Having had all the ups and downs of the Menopause, and as previously quoted the symptoms can continue throughout life. There is medical help for women that suffer seriously, and all previous generations of women (whose lives were much harder than ours) they accepted it is part of normal process of a woman...There are women that would take advantage of this loop hole, to get attention and avoid going to work, As we all know of drama queens that already do this.ViewDate:

Would you kill a spider?spiders are part of the chain of life and have an important role to play in the success of our living planet....They are useful in our homes as they clean up after us. Clearing away all the dead skin that we shed, dust holds many serious microbes that cause disease to us and the spiders cleaning up prevents us getting illness..They may look creepy but they are harmless in the UK.ViewDate:

Kindle vs BookHi I have just joined silver surfers...yesterday in fact. My name is Celia and I love reading. I have worn glasses since the age of 11years old, I am slightly short-sighted and as I have got older I found reading some books the print was so small it created eye strain. even with glasses..Then to my delight, the Kindle appeared on the market..I ordered one from Amazon, it was one of there first with a quite poor quality background a dull white but I could make the text to exactly the size that suited me. It was wonderful and so easy to pack when traveling. Instead of a couple of bulky books in my bag, I had access to as many books as I wanted..As the years have passed by and I have got older and the Kindle has improved to perfection, with colour, sound, and Amazon Kindle store etc.it is a wonderful invention. However, I do belong to a shared reading group and a book group at my local library, I manage to read the books usually and can use a magnifying sheet if necessary, as it is short term I cope this way..I do have friends who have a Kindle just for traveling and reading but also read books in a normal way when at home. Its a win win for Books and Kindles.ViewDate:
