Is a second national lockdown for vulnerable over 50s the right way forward?I think a second lockdown will be disastrous for the economy - so many businesses are struggling already and so many have failed to re-open at all. What is needed is a much stricter attitude towards the current regulations. So many are simply ignoring them - unfortunately this tends to be the younger end of the age spectrum. It is impossible for the authorities to do this alone- e.g. the wearing of facemasks in shops. Over the last week, I have witnessed the majority of people abiding by the rules but there are always a few and nobody has taken it upon themselves to remind them. I include myself in this because I am worried about the anticipated verbal abuse. However, if we are to get the virus under control, we all have to be prepared to remind people, even if they cannot handle it. Cyprus has introduced a 300 euro fine literally overnight - perhaps we should do the same - AND be prepared to enforce it. I live alone since my husband died and my mental health is suffering being shut inside all the time. However, I am getting more and more reluctant to go out because of the irresponsible behaviour of others. For once, the country needs to get tough with those who don't/won't follow the rules.ViewDate:

Was Prince Harry right to bare his soul on television?Meghan has been a disaster both for Harry and for British Royalty. She knew what she was taking on when she married Harry but I think she thought she would change things. It is clear that she has no real conception of what maintaining "a stiff upper lip" really entails and neither has she recognised how the Royal Family conducts itself. Harry has changed beyond all recognition since being with Meghan and now there is a rift between the two brothers. I am sure the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge find things equally as restrictive but both are fully committed to their role within the Royal Family and carry out their duties with dignity and real respect for what the Royal Family represents. Harry and Meghan would do well to follow their example instead of wandering around, hand in hand, like some lovesick teenagers.
