Hello - looking for like minded friends to chat withHi BettyKaren Thanks for the reply, sorry for the slow response, the airmail round here doesn't use racing pigeons, more like the slow, ponderous Dodo, no wonder they are extinct.. So, how are you finding life, in this end of the social pond, we try to keep life interesting.. If was to place a collage of my life infront of you, we would need a paperboy for my 1st job, a chef for my chosen profession, a soldier for the path and journey I took.. We would need a married man with 3 children, also grandkids for the lttle ones my kids have had.. Somewhere in the collage we would need a pub goer, a disco dancer, a football fan... That will do for a taster, my dear, I hope you find what you are looking for and maybe share some of yourself with me,,, Regards RonViewDate:

People Have Forgotten How To Be Friends...Sandra I think the problem is, that many have forgotten how to communicate. The world has changed, family and friends are busy doing their thing, so unless an appointment is made, friends and family become ships in the night, you know they are there but no one sees each other... Also, there are friends and family that hate the surprise visit, Its a crazy world of late.. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Today I saw a friend for the 1st time in over 5 weeks, she cancelled, I cancelled, she had ill kids, I had antibiotics, texts from a distance, we both knew where each other was.. Also, take my two brothers, one likes weekly contact, quick phonecall about his work and what we are doing, my other brother, we have a periodic system, no news is good news, so if we call its important at that moment. So I feel your pain my dear, when we were younger, there was no hiding behind technology and gizzmos. Also we could walk to the Village Hall for the Friday disco in safety, unlike today Take careViewDate:

MPs - Can you be too rich to be a serving Member of Parliament?Cris - what are we curing here - the cost of living crisis, obesity, NHS waiting times, Inflation For me outing Bogof has little to do with the ability to feed people... The best way forward is the offers However, what we are seeing - is how uneducated people are, coz they are all mixed up.. Some idiots believe the only to solve the Cost of Living crisis is to increase wages. but all that will do is spark more price rises, and inflate costs again.. The problem is we have around 46m between 16 and 70 of working age - and the majority earn next to nothing 6m are in education, a result of various poor plans, depending on the time of year 12m to 20m volunteer, About 9m (one in 5) are disabled in Britain.. No wonder the coffers are empty and there is no help, People on benefits are frightened of looking for work, coz they know they are a good thing at the momentViewDate:

Ukraine warWhy do you think Russia has burnt earth in the Donbass region - Russia has lost 14 of its satellitte domaines to NATO - it doesn't want Americians next door - The Ukraine - Moscow M3 highway is 490 kilometres from from the Ukraine border to central Moscow.. Thats why putin said over his dead body... Also - Ukraine is entitled to do what it wants - it is a sovereign country, Finland has applied to join, and you are not blaming them If the world is to be global, then it needs everyone under one flag - One Vision, not 247 different countries with their own agendas Russia to totally at fault here - affraid of the new world order, trying to maintain an archaic attachment to a failed past. no one wants communismViewDate:

Is modern technology really anti-social? Does it get in the way of real, old-fashioned conversation? What do you think and are your experiences.JeanMark - every generation has the ability to marry the two, every generation has the ability to adapt, but we both know that not everyone does, Look at Brexit, look at Covid, look at the last 70 years and the resistance to change.. We both know that not everybody buys into everythingViewDate:

Is modern technology really anti-social? Does it get in the way of real, old-fashioned conversation? What do you think and are your experiences.Nothing wrong with watching the footie, we all have our passions. also Technology is brilliant, we keep moving forward The trouble is us, we are resistant to change, its why so many are stuck in the past.. You only have to look at the news, the new generations offended by history and trying to cancel everything they disagree with.. We are more diverse now, hence why we have so many problems, no one can agree on anything As a species we need contact and interaction, yet evrything today pushes us towards isolation.. Hope you overcome your i-paditus addictionViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself. So this is Newbie Corner. Well, my name is Ron, I am currently 62, I am integrated in todays society, I can type like a keyboard warrior, or chat like a used car salesman, I enjoy the monthly nights out with my group of friends and birthdays with friends and family is about meals out, showing our connection and not the need for materialistic things. But you can never have enough friends, contact or people to chat too.. I retired at 45 to become a single parent, after my wife's passing, my youngest still lives with me even though he is 24 now, Last October I decided to go back to work part-time, I didn't need to be a manager again, so at 62 I get my exercise sorting parcels.. Stay safe out there, and enjoy all that you do, maybe we will chat one day..ViewDate:

MPs - Can you be too rich to be a serving Member of Parliament?Dunno why anyone would want to be a politician in the current climate. No one is simplifying things - everyone is adding more choices and therefore more division and minorities. We live in a system that rewards failure and crime, those that do the right get passed over Look at mental illness, we are a species that relies on contact and interaction, but we live in isolation, hiding behind mobile phones and pc's. Look at obesity, we do less but still feed our faces, look at the sales of ebikes, carts and bicycles with assisted motors, look at the sales of supplements and vitamins And there is more, we live in a time of ultimate hypocrisy Politicians trying to please all and failing badly
