Are you a Grandparent?I was 40 when my first grandchild arrived. It wasn't that I wasn't ready to be a grandma - more that I wasn't ready for my daughter to be a mum! However she is a brilliant one, now to four boys! And has recently gone back to the studying that was interrupted. I now have 16 grandchildren - 8 of each! And I adore them all. Sadly I haven't seen two of them in a while due to relationship breakdown, but I'm hopeful that one day they will find me. I spend a lot of time with the others and enjoy every minute.ViewDate:

My Personal DifficultiesI have no problem. You obviously have had much to overcome in our often judgemental society. I think you are very brave, well done for being true to yourself.ViewDate:

working in our 60sI have at least 10,but more likely thirteen years until I retire. Not sure I'll be able to keep doing my current job that long, but no experience in anything else now things have moved on so much. I keep looking but no luck so far! Bit of a worry.ViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Hi all, I've recently joined and am trying to get the hang of the site! Not the most technical of people I'm afraid! I work and have a big family that I do see quite a lot of. However my friends are nearly all couples and I am finding evenings, weekends, bank holidays, etc can be rather lonely. I would love to make new like minded friends to chat with. I love the coast, walking, nature and wildlife. My hobbies are reading, theatre and ballet, gardening and I'm learning Italian - slowly! in hopes of future travel. Looking forward to talking to you all....ViewDate:

Calling all Norfolk members ????Hi, I've just joined. Live in East Anglia at moment but not especially happy here! I love Norfolk and have plans to relocate in future but at present work and finances keep me here. Plus I have family nearby who I would sorely miss. I spend as much time as I can in Norfolk and keep working towards my dream!ViewDate:

What kind of birds have you seen in your garden today?Lots of sparrows and starlings on the feeder every day. Blackbirds like mealworms on the path! Quite a lot of blue tits and great tits coming and going. Had long tailed tits a few weeks ago but not seen them since. I have a robin that seems to be resident. Also get collared doves and very fat wood pigeons every day! My most exciting visitor was a sparrowhawk last year which swooped in and snatched a sparrow in midair while my grandson and I watched open mouthed! Can't wait for spring watch!ViewDate:

Do you feel lonely?I go to work all week and have family living nearby, however I still often feel lonely. Sometimes it's feeling invisible or disconnected.
