First Frost

First Frost

Good morning Jack Frost what are you doing here?
Wondered how long it would take for you to appear
You came in overnight and left your distinctive card
A sprinkling of white sparkles over everyone’s back yard

A little slippery under foot so needed to take care
You will have to try harder next time if you dare
The sun was quick to come out melting you away
Leaving you to strike and do your worst another day

A distinct nip in the air so the need to wrap up warm
Jack Frost I can endure far better than a snow storm
Now you have shown your face I will be more prepared
I will get out with my camera to see how you have fared

Just hope the sun can beat you again seeing you off
You will just have to forgive me if I laugh and scoff
Better luck next time if you dare show your face
Don’t be a bad loser just melt away with grace
